5 Major Additions in the Fields of Mistria Second Major Update

Fields of Mistria recently unveiled its second major update in March 2025. This update had a lot of new mechanics and major changes.

Fields of Mistria launched its second major update on March 10, 2025, which included a lot of new mechanics, items, and even new characters to meet. Naturally, fans will be looking forward to a lot of different things for this patch, some bigger than others.

This update brings farm expansions, pets, and new biomes for players to interact with at their pleasure. The new expansion has a lot of ground to cover, so let’s jump right into the major changes and additions.

1) Caldarus’ Human Form in Fields of Mistria

Players can go down to the 60th floor of the mines and take part in a new questline which lets us finally meet the long-anticipated Caldarus in his human form. The ancient dragon can be interacted with by doing the ‘Breaking the Fire Seal’ quest.

Alongside this human form, doing the quest gives us access to a variety of spells to use throughout the world of Fields of Mistria. Fans will be eager to interact with this ancient dragon, and his human form as well.

2) Pets in Fields of Mistria

The new major update also introduced pets into the game. These pets can be obtained via the Pet Dream cutscene upon reaching Spring 7th of Year 1. Presently, you can choose between a cat and a dog as your companion in the game.

These pets will be able to collect resources for you as well, which makes them extremely useful. You can freely customize your pet’s appearance when first selecting them from the Pet Dream as well.

3) Farm Expansion

It is now possible to increase the size of the farmland you own. This new farm expansion lets you talk to the carpenter about getting an increase to the property you own. This bigger area will definitely be put to good use as you will have several new items and activities to plan out. However, it can be quite costly to get this farm expansion. You will need:

  • 40,000 Tesserae
  • 50 Refined Stone
  • 50 Hard Wood

4) Animal Festival

It’s time to celebrate! A new festival is being added to the game. It starts on Winter 10th, and you can enter one big animal alongside one small animal for a chance to win some prizes.

Through this festival you have a chance to win animal cosmetics and some decor too. Fans will surely look forward to taking part in this snowy festival.

5) Quality of Life Additions

A lot of new Quality of Life (QoL) changes were made to the overall gameplay for Fields of Mistria. These include the Water Sprite Statues and Animal Sprite Statues alongside the Stone Refinery to name a few.

Additionally, you also gain the ability to teleport between the farm and the Deep Woods. Lastly, the Teleportation Chalice teleports players between the mines and the farm.
