S-Tier Best Combat Pals Ranked
Frostallion
- HP: 140
- Attack: 140
- Defense: 140
Guardian deity of Palpagos Island, known as the Winter Caller. In the past, when a calamity struck the land, it soared into the sky and sealed away the threat by casting the island into an eternal winter. This is the base regular Frostallion and is identical to its variant except for being ice type which makes it strong against dragon type. This ability makes Frostallion more prevalent and dangerous Pals than neutral types. This is an alpha legendary and they are caught in the wild. They have a significant amount of bonus health over the one you breed down.
Frostallion knocked is only attainable through breeding but it can never reach the same heights of stats as a wild alpha Frostallion. It has a notably higher potential power ceiling while providing all these same secondary bonuses both to itself and the players. Frostallion’s passive skill converts the player’s attacks to deal with Ice damage instead and increases the Ice damage dealt by the player and Frostallion while mounted. Enables Frostallion to be mounted.
Frostallion Noct
- HP: 140
- Attack: 140
- Defense: 135
Guardian deity of Palpagos Island is known as the Night Caller. In the past, when a calamity struck the land, it soared into the sky and sealed away the threat by casting the island into eternal darkness. This 42-level technical legendary pal has the best overall stats as compared to other Pals in the game. This is extremely well-rounded being tied for second in attack third in HP and also being third in defense. Frostallion Noct is a ridable pal, so mount cooldown reset. This pal boosts its own elemental type damage while mounted up to 100% and it has a bonus of also turning the player attack damage into date type as well.
This is the absolute most desirable combat partner skill, boosting the pal’s own damage by 100% while also giving the player a 100% damage boost at partner skill level 5. It’s a completely separate multiplier and the fact that this pal also makes the player’s damage count as dark makes it nasty for the player’s damage build. Frostallion Noct’s partner skill converts the player’s attacks to deal Dark damage instead and increases the Dark damage dealt by the player and Frostallion Noct while mounted. Enables Frostallion Noct to be mounted.
Jetragon
- HP: 110
- Attack: 140
- Defense: 110
Watches over Palpagos Island from high above. When calamity returns to the land, the earth will split open, and the skies will burn. It is destined to strike down the calamity in a flash of destruction. Jetragon’s defensive strength however comes from its high speed. The same speed that it uses while you fly around on it is the speed that it uses in combat. Which means that you can use that to just genuinely dodge attacks from movement very easily.
On top of that it is a ridable pal, so mount cooldown sets and it gets a missile launcher that you can fire as part of the partner skill. As you rank the partner skill up the damage can get pretty decent on that too. Jetragon’s partner skill allows you to mount Jetragon and have it fire a series of homing missiles while mounted. Jetragon is weak to the Ice element, it’s best to prepare a powerful Ice Pal to battle it with.
A-Tier Best Combat Pals Ranked
Necromus
- HP: 130
- Attack: 145
- Defense: 120
Once one with Paladius. Its darkened form is the embodiment of negative emotions. However, a glimmer of compassion can still be seen deep within its eyes. Necromus has the highest attack stat in the entire game as a base. The alpha legendaries, if you catch them in the wild have a massive increase in HP compared to what they get if you were to breed. If you were to somehow get a perfect one in the wild, it has great attacks and speed. The hitboxes allow it to hit its target consistently. It’s ridable for mount cooldown resetting. Shadowbeak is stronger while being ridden but Necromus is stronger without that kind of specific management. Necromus’s partner skill increases base mount speed and enables mounting for Necromus. Allows Necromus to double jump while mounted.
Gorirat
- HP: 90
- Attack: 95
- Defense: 90
It beats the ground rhythmically to communicate with its comrades. The meaning of each rhythm differs by troop, but the distinction between them is still largely unknown. This pal is still a bit misunderstood as it only has a 95 attack growth rate and 90 HP. On the surface, it is comparatively quite low to everything on the list. It is not ridable, so it doesn’t get the mount cooldown resets. However, its partner skill sends it into a berserk rage increasing its attack stat by up to 200% at the full partner skill level.
It will deal three times its normal damage when this is active, making it hit the highest base attack stat in the game. Gorirat is a neutral type pal, so no super effective attacks without losing out on the same type of attack bonus. With its massively buffable attack stat, it more than makes up for that loss. Gorirat’s partner skill significantly increases Gorirat and Gorirat Terra’s attacks temporarily when activated.
Shadowbeak
- HP: 120
- Attack: 120
- Defense: 140
Born from the depths of insanity, its very existence should not be. Having lost all genetic ties to other Pals, one wonders if it could still even be considered a Pal. This pal has the second-highest defense stats in the game, making it incredibly tanky but with high damage stats too. Its unique attack divine disaster is 160 power, one of the few attacks of that power ranking in the game. Shadowbeak is also a ridable mount which means the high cooldown in an attack like that.
It is one of the Pals that boosts its own elemental-type damage by 50 to 100% while ridden which makes you nasty when fully set up. Shadowbeak’s partner skill increases the Dark damage dealt by the player and Shadowbeak while mounted. Enables Shadowbeak to be mounted. However, this pal is weak to Dragon Element Pals due to its Dark Elemental Type, it’s best to bring Dragon-type Pals to fight against it.
Jormuntide Ignis
- HP: 130
- Attack: 130
- Defense: 100
Legend says that Jormuntide Ignis was once a warrior, who after being wrongly convicted and cast into a volcano, returned as this Pal to destroy those who wronged him. This is also a ridable and best pal to use in combat. Jormuntide Ignis boosts damage with its elemental type while ridden by up to 100%. This is similar to Blazamut but with slightly better stats. It also has access to dragon-type moves with the same type of attack bonus.
Developers just made Jormuntide Ignis so much stronger that it can play an impactful role. They can be obtained by breeding Pals together in a Breeding Farm. Jormuntide Ignis’s partner skills increase the Fire damage dealt by the player and Jormuntide Ignis while mounted. Enables Jormuntide Ignis to be mounted. This pal is weak to Ice or Water element Pals due to its Dragon Fire Elemental Type.
Blazamut
- HP: 100
- Attack: 125
- Defense: 120
Legends say it was born during a volcanic eruption. A strange group even claims that this continent is laid upon the back of a giant Blazamut. This is a ridable pal, so mount cooldown resets. More importantly, it is one of the Pals that boosts the damage dealt with its own elemental type while ridden by 50 to 100%. While riding it, its attack stat will be basically doubled. This pal can be found as a level 49 Field Alpha Boss inside the Scorching Mineshaft in the volcanic region of the map in the west. Blazamut partner skill increases the fire damage dealt by the player and Blazamut while mounted. Enables Blazamut to be mounted.
B-Tier Best Combat Pals Ranked
Paladius
- HP: 130
- Attack: 120
- Defense: 145
Once one with Necromus. Its gleaming form is free of all negative emotions. However, a glimmer of hatred can still be seen deep within its eyes. Paladius is extremely tanky and has the highest defense stats in the whole game. 120 attack is for a legendary a bit low. The partner skill is not combat-based either though it is ridable for the mount cooldown reset. These stats are still great as a neutral type pal. It just cannot physically get super effective damage on anything unless you go to of types of moves. This removes the inherent same type attack bonus of 20% which would cost you 20% damage overall. Paladius is an absolute menace compared to even the D or C-tier Pals. It just has top-end potential compared to the other ones.
Helzephyr
- HP: 100
- Attack: 125
- Defense: 100
It calls forth lightning from the depths of hell. One who dies from Helzephyr’s inferno is sure to be sent to the underworld. Helzephyr is a ridable pal, so we have the mount cooldown resets. It changes player damage to dark while being ridden which lets you super affect neutral Pals. It also gives the ridden player an attack stat bonus of 50 to 100% depending on the partner’s skill level. You can obtain them through breeding Pals together in a Breeding Farm. Helzephyr’s partner skill increases the player’s attack moderately and changes the player’s damage type to Dark while mounting Helzephyr.
C-Tier Best Combat Pals Ranked
Vanwyrm Cryst
- HP: 90
- Attack: 120
- Defense: 95
The melodies of a flute made from the exoskeleton of a Vanwyrm Cryst are said to cross whole mountain ranges. In ages past, such flutes were used to signal victory in battle. This is a step up from a regular Vanwyrm in terms of stats but the rest is the same except its ice type. The mount cooldown reset is nice and the bonus damage to weak points is just solid. Vanwyrm Cryst is just a bump up in stats from its normal version. Vanwyrm Cryst can be encountered and obtained inside certain dungeons found on the map. Its partner skill increases the player’s damage dealt to enemy weak points while mounted.
Bushi
- HP: 80
- Attack: 125
- Defense: 80
Its body becomes a blade upon death, to be taken up by the next generation. If someone other than a Bushi wields this blade, the soul within torments them until they are driven mad. Bushi is extremely solid but only 80 HP and defense, so a bit of a glass cannon. Its partner skill is like considered at knocked. It’s just a super-powered-up version of one of its normal attacks dealing up to three times the damage though. Due to Bushi’s natural attack growth rate being as high as it is, this has a much greater effect on him.
Vanwyrm
- HP: 90
- Attack: 115
- Defense: 90
The melodies of a flute made from the exoskeleton of a Vanwyrm are said to cross the whole mountain range. In ages past, such flutes were used to signal an attack. Vanwyrm is a ridable pal, so mount cool reset is a factor. It also gives you a bonus to weak spots while you are riding them which scales from 20% up to 40% at partner skill level five. Vanwyrm’s partner skill increases the player’s damage dealt to enemy weak points while mounted. Vanwyrm is weak to Water or Dragon element Pals due to its Fire Dark Elemental Type, it’s best to bring Water or Dragon-type Pals to fight against it.
D-Tier Best Combat Pals Ranked
Verdash
- HP: 90
- Attack: 115
- Defense: 90
Land that Verdash has run across becomes extremely fertile, with thick vegetation growing there soon after. It will not run anywhere that herbicide has been used. Verdash is a bit squishier but partner skill makes up for that gap a bit. It makes the player’s damage count as grass and gives movement speed to the player as well. This excels against ground Pals making the player damage super effective with bonus damage. However, it’s nothing too special for combat.
Fenglope
- HP: 100
- Attacks: 110
- Defense: 90
In ages past, its beautiful visage was a common sight in paintings. As time passed, its beautiful pelt and antlers were often seen in works of art. This one is ridable and also the fastest ground mount that exists, so mount resets for this are a thing. The speed makes it easy to dodge enemy attacks while actively riding. It also has a pretty strong species attack too. You can argue it might go a bit lower than this even just because it’s a neutral type pal. It can’t have a super effect unless it uses type mismatching moves using a moving match that doesn’t match your pal.
Reptyro
- HP: 110
- Attack: 105
- Defense: 120
Magma-like blood runs throughout its body. If a large amount of water is thrown on it, this water rapidly heats, causing an immense vapor explosion. This is beefier and tankeir than the before ones but it comes at the cost of not having a combat partner skill. You can argue this is weaker than the others if you focus purely on attack power. We do think that this pal deserves some respect.
Felbat
- HP: 100
- Attack: 105
- Defense: 110
Attacking from the shadows, this Pal traps its prey within its cloak-like wings. It’s probably best not to know what happens within them, or why the inside of its wings are stained red. This is not a ridable pal but has a semi-unique partner skill. It gives both itself and the player up to 6% life steal on damage dealt when fully four-star condensed into. Lovander does this as well but simply has the worst stats and also is a neutral type. Feltbat is just superior for this purpose by a pretty large margin and this feels like a pretty nice niche.
