PVP Prismatic Warlock is a brand new subclass released in Destiny 2 with the Final Shape expansion. The Prismatic subclass allows for combining different points of the various subclasses into one powerful subclass. This is going to lead to some interesting and powerful combinations. The object of the subclass is to combine and customize a subclass exactly how you want it to release the most carnage. Find out all the details on how to craft, create, and optimize our Prismatic Warlock PVP Build.

  • Subclass: Prismatic
  • Primary Stat: Recovery
  • Super: Song of Flame
  • Class Ability: Phoenix Dive
  • Jump: Strafe Glide
  • Grenade: Coldsnap Grenade
  • Melee: Arcane Needle
  • Aspects: Lightning Surge, Feed the Void
  • Fragments: Facet of Dawn, Facet of Command, Facet of Hope, Facet of Blessing, Facet of Solitude

Abilities

The best abilities for the Prismatic Warlock PVP Build are Arcane Needle, Coldsnap Grenade, and Phoenix Dive. The Arcane Needle is a melee that can unravel targets and help generate Strand tangles. Also, Coldsnap Grenade instantly freezes targets and can chain to multiple enemies. Lastly, Phoenix Dive allows us on demand heal to re-enter combat faster.

Song of Flame – Super that gives us an auto-targeting firebird grenade and super charged melee while boosting our ability regeneration and damage

Phoenix Dive – Activating this in air move sends us to the ground and provides us with cure

Burst Glide – Glide that provides us faster forward movement

Coldsnap Grenade – Grenade that targets one enemy, freezing them, and chaining to nearby enemies

Arcane Needle – Melee that can unravel targets and deals decent damage

The most important ability we use in this build is Arcane Needle. Since this provides us with a damage buff from our fragment and helps us generate threadlings for our exotic perk. Our Coldsnap Grenade is amazing for dealing with rushing enemies or engaging multiple enemies holding an angle. Our class ability, Phoenix Dive, is our best survivability tool. Lastly, our Song of Flame super provides us a strong roaming super that still allows us to use our weapons or abilities to kill.

Aspects

The best aspects to use with our Prismatic Warlock PVP Build are Lightning Surge and Feed the Void. Lightning Surge changes our melee to an area of effect dash forward that deals massive damage. Also, Feed the Void grants us devour when getting an ability kill which heals us and gives grenade energy while active.

Lightning Surge – Our grenade dashes us forward dealing massive area damage

Feed the Void – Ability kills grant devour

Lightning Surge is essential with this build since it is great for shutting down frozen enemies and we have three charges available due to our melee choice. Lastly, Feed the Void provides us with devour after an ability kill which heals us and gives grenade energy while the buff is active.

Fragments

The best fragments for our Prismatic Warlock PVP Build are the Facet of Dawn, Facet of Command, Facet of Hope, Facet of Blessing, and Facet of Solitude. Since these provide us with healing, damage boost, and ability energy.

Facet of Dawn : Powered melee hits grant radiant

Facet of Command : Freezing enemies reloads our weapons and boosts our weapons stats

Facet of Hope : While we have an elemental buff, our class ability recharges faster

Facet of Blessing : Melee final blows start health regeneration

Facet of Solitude : Landing rapid precision hits severs targets

Facet of Dawn, Facet of Blessing, and Facet of Hope provide our melees survivability, boost our weapons damage, and decrease our class ability cooldown. Also, Facet of Solitude reduces our enemies damage output and helps us generate tangles for our exotic perk. Lastly, Facet of Command works great with our grenade to reload our weapons and boosting our stability, aim assistance, and airborne effectiveness after freezing a target.

Best Weapons

The best weapon combination to use with the Prismatic Warlock PVP Build is an Igneous Hammer and Conditional Finality. Since these provide the best utility for both good close-range and mid-range engagements. Also, Hand Cannon and Shotgun is one of the highest skill gap weapon combinations and is often preferred by veteran players or those participating in high levels of PVP content.

Weapon Combinations

Below are some additional weapon combinations for our Prismatic Warlock PVP Build:

  • Hand Cannon & Fusion Rifle- Best for good aimers
  • Submachine Gun & Sniper Rifle- Best for aggressive players
  • Pulse Rifle and Shotgun- Best for passive players

If you wish to run a different weapon combination, we highly recommend at least running a primary ammo weapon and a special ammo weapon. Running two special weapons will limit your ammo and is not functional. Even though utilizing two primary weapons is doable, you will be at a massive disadvantage due to the strength of special ammo weapons.

Hand Cannon & Fusion Rifle

While not as iconic as the hand cannon and shotgun meta that ruled Destiny 2 for many years, the hand cannon and fusion rifle combo is a lethal pairing. You gain the benefit of both mid-range engagements with your hand cannon and close-range bursts with your fusion rifle. This combination is especially powerful for guardians who like the high skill gap of Hand Cannons while providing an easier-to-use special weapon with the Fusion Rifle.

Submachine Gun & Sniper Rifle

With both close-range and long-range engagements taken care of with this pairing, however, it is recommended to play very aggressively with this combination. With a submachine gun, you are lethal at close ranges allowing you to contest most weapons within short range. A sniper rifle allows you to clear a lane and push up toward your enemies.

Pulse Rifle & Shotgun

This pairing allows for both long-range and close-range to be secured. Pulse Rifles can out-range most hand cannons while providing a very easy-to-use weapon so they work well with more passive players. Shotguns provide one-shot potential when getting rushed by enemy players that push your position.

Exotic Armor

Destiny 2 Solipsism Exotic Class Item Warlock
Destiny 2 Spirit of the Ophidian Exotic Class Item Perk PVP

Destiny 2 Spirit of the Swarm Exotic Class Item Perk PVP

The best exotic armor for the Prismatic Warlock PVP build is the new exotic Warlock class item, Solipsism. These new exotic class items can drop with two pre-existing exotic perks on one item. This allows unrivaled combinations and adjustments within Destiny 2 build crafting. The two perks we want with this build are the Spirit of the Ophidian and Spirit of the Swarm. These provide our weapons additional handling and have our tangles spawn threadlings. The most important perk to focus on is the Spirit of the Ophidian since this provides our weapons an additional bonus which is the priority.

Armor Stats

The best stats to focus on in our Prismatic Warlock PVP Build are Mobility, Intellect, and Recovery. Since these provide us with survivability, reduce our class ability cooldown, and reduce our super cooldown.

  • Mobility: 10
  • Resilience: 80
  • Recovery: 100
  • Disciple: 50
  • Intellect: 50
  • Strength: 50

Armor Mods

The best armor mods for our Prismatic Warlock PVP Build are Targeting Mods, Dexterity Mods, and Unflinching Mods. Since these build into how well our weapons perform in combat, they are of the highest priority.

While we have kinetic weapon mods and arc weapon mods, you should adjust these depending on your weapon choices. So make sure to swap these mods to match your weapon energy types.

Gameplay Tips

This Prismatic Warlock PVP Build utilizes our weapons as well as our abilities to enhance our combat. Our melee and our grenade are quite powerful and fantastic for starting or ending engagements. Since melee unravels targets and reduces the damage they do while helping create a tangle for our exotic. Also, our grenade can instantly freeze targets and spread to any nearby targets freezing them as well. Lastly, our super is great for roaming and giving us high damage abilities to deal with an unsuspecting guardians.

Also, one of the massive changes with Prismatic is known as Transcendence. Transcendence is a sudo-super mode of the subclass that is triggered upon filling up a dark and light bar located under your super. Once these are both filled, you can enter Transcendence which gives us boosted melee and grenade recharge rates, boosted weapon damage, and extra resistances. Also, we gain access to a transcendence-specific grenade for Warlock called the Freezing Singularity. This is a grenade charged with both void and stasis and it summons a black hole orbited by a halo of ice. Afterward, the black hole implodes, suppressing and dealing massive area-of-effect damage.
