How to unlock The Slayer Form in Baldur’s Gate 3

There are three methods to get The Slayer Form in Baldur’s Gate 3:

  • Kill Isobel in Act 2
  • Kill Your Lover or Companion with the Highest Approval in Act 2
  • Accepting to become Bhaal’s Chosen after defeating Orin in Anct 3

Kill Isobel in Act 2

First, and one of the more challenging methods to unlock the slayer form, is to kill Isobel in Act 2. You will find her in Last Light Inn. She is the only and last hope for people and refugees who found shelter and asylum in the middle of Shadow Curse. When you first arrive at Shadow Cursed Lands, head northeast and look for an Island protected by a magical sphere. When you arrive, you will be greeted by Jaheira, a potential companion who can join you at the end of Act 2.

Isobel is on the first floor, on the north balcony, performing a ritual that protects the area and people inside with a magical shield.

Save Isobel in Baldur's Gate 3

To get The Slayer Form in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must kill her. Speak with her and save her from Marcus. Once you have a long rest, Sceleritas Fel will visit you and ask you to kill her. Return to Last Light Inn, approach her stealthily, and attack from behind. She is alone in a secluded area and is an easy target to kill.

As simple as it may sound, if you kill Isobel to get the slyer form, there will be consequences. Because now the protective sphere will dissolve, and vulnerable people inside will be consumed by shadowcurse.

Isobel Getting Taken BG3

You will need to fight with them. Jaheira will help you for now. The fight is challenging; many will be transformed into shadow husks, and you must fight with the entire settlement. After the fight, Jaheira will turn against you. You can try to convince her to leave with an intimidation charisma check.

All the vendors and side quests will no longer be accessible. If any quest is partially completed, you immediately lose it. You no longer have access to the Last Light Inn, which makes the entire Act 2 zone feel desolate and hopeless, significantly influencing the Act 2 experience.

After you kill Isobel, take a long rest. The Sceleritas Fel will appear, and after a short cutscene, he will reward you with the slayer form.

Kill Your Lover or Companion with the Highest Approval in Act 2

Alternatively, if you decide not to kill Isobel, Sceleritas Fel will still visit you during the next long rest, and you still have a chance to get The Slayer Form. In this second method, you now need to agree to kill one of your dearest companions. It can be your lover or companion with the highest approval. If you kill them in their sleep, the butter will likewise teach you how to transform into the slayer form.

Save the game, just in case, at this point, as soon as possible.

Your companions may riot against you the next day if you don’t deceive them about what happened. The charisma check is high, 30 DC Deception skill check, so it may take you a few tries before you succeed. Keep trying until you calm them down. Otherwise, your team may turn against you, and you may need to kill them all.

Accepting to become Bhaal’s Chosen after defeating Orin in Anct 3

This solution to get and unlock Slayer Form is probably the safest, as it doesn’t require killing innocents. Instead, you must defeat Orin in the Red in the Temple of Bhaal and agree to become Bhalla’s Chosen, immediately unlocking the slayer form in Act 3.

You will meet Orin in the Temple of Bhaal. At this point, your Dark Urge will have their memories back, and they can challenge Orin and defeat her in a one-on-one duel. When available, choose “Show Orin the splendor of Bhaal’s favorite: Call upon the Slayer.” And you will transform into the slayer form. If you win, Bhaal will reward you with the permanent slayer form. However, you may refuse if you wish, but you won’t keep the ability to transform into the slayer if you don’t become the Bhaal chosen.

The only downside to this method of obtaining Slayer form is that it will be close to the end game, so it is not as helpful for you as if you would unlock it early in Act 2.
