Minecraft is a survival sandbox with a huge world that you can explore. However, traversal can sometimes get difficult due to how large the explorable area is. To make it easier, you can enhance your boots with some very useful enchantments. This can be done using an Enchanting Table or through an Anvil. But there are many enchantments to choose from when it comes to boots.

To help you with that, here’s an article with five of the best boots enchantments in Minecraft.

5) Protection

Protection is a necessary enchantment for most armor pieces, including boots. Basic armor pieces provide armor value, which negates a bit of damage from some physical sources. However, Protection ensures that you take reduced damage from nearly all sources that can bypass armor value. Some of the exceptions include damage from hunger, the Void, and a Shriek attack from a Warden.

4) Unbreaking

Most equipment in Minecraft has a durability bar, which depletes when the item gets used. In the case of boots, it’s when you take damage while wearing them. However, when the durability bar reaches zero, the item gets destroyed. Unbreaking reduces the chance of consuming durability when taking damage. This allows your boots to stay intact for much longer.

3) Mending

Mending is another enchantment that can help you keep your boots intact for longer. The durability of boots, as mentioned before, can be restored by repairing them, which becomes costlier the more you repair. This problem can be solved with Mending, which automatically repairs your armor as you gain experience orbs. The best way to utilize this enchantment is by building XP farms.

2) Depth Strider

When you move underwater, your speed is significantly reduced. This can be annoying when traversing through biomes such as swamps or mangrove forests. Depth Strider helps by reducing the slow effect by one-third for every level, maxing out at Level III. Additionally, Depth Strider is a boot-exclusive enchantment, meaning you cannot use it on any other equipment.

1) Feather Falling

Falling is one of the easiest ways to die in Minecraft. After jumping from a certain height, you take damage equal to the number of blocks you fell. Feather Falling reduces the amount of fall damage taken. There are four levels of Feather Falling, and each level increases damage reduction by 12%, with the maximum being 48% at Feather Falling IV.

We recommend using a good Enchanting Table setup to get max Feather Falling, which can also earn you additional enchantments on your boots.
