Only four chapters of Split Fiction have side missions, which are based on Mio and Zoe’s past creations. These chapters are Neon Revenge, Hopes of Spring, Final Dawn, and Rise of the Dragon Realm. 1. Train Heist
This mission puts you in control of multiple vehicles as you race to stop The Conductor. Mio and Zoe must use wingsuits, water skis, and even an enhanced ship to take down their target. Train Heist takes place in the Hopes of Spring level. You will find it after a water sequence where Mio drags Zoe across a floating log. Once near the portal, both characters must use wall running and grappling skills to reach the entrance.
2. Gameshow
Set in a futuristic arena, Gameshow requires you to pass a bomb between Mio and Zoe while avoiding platforming hazards. Holding the bomb too long causes an explosion, so timing is a very crucial thing here. You can find this side story after Zoe gains control over the environment and Mio takes animal forms. After the duo reunites, locate a sci-fi building on the left to access the portal.
3. Moon Market
In Moon Market, you must retrieve three cat spirits to open a gate. Interact with objects like a potion-filled cauldron to aid your search. This side story is in Final Dawn, accessible after defeating the Factory Warden. Continue to a crane section, shoot color-matching symbols to open a door, and check the shimmering portal on a ledge above a short platforming area.
4. Notebook
It is known as one of the most visually distinct missions in Split Fiction. Notebook transforms the game’s 3D world into a 2D pencil-and-paper environment. This level explores one of Zoe’s unfinished stories while bringing her sketches to life in a creative way. To access this side story in Final Dawn, reach the point where you obtain the jetpack.
From there, locate a floating ledge to the left of the large spinning wheel hazard. Use the jetpack to land safely and avoid the spiked obstacle. If you appreciate unique artistic shifts in games, this one is worth experiencing.
5. Birthday Cake
The side mission Birthday Cake starts off as a colorful and lighthearted mission. However, it takes an unexpected twist.
Mio and Zoe are transformed into a pair of googly-eyed teeth. They travel through a candy-filled world inspired by Mio’s childhood memories. Everything seems cheerful until the candles on the cake are lit, triggering a sudden shift in tone. A strange yet humorous boss battle follows, which makes this mission both quirky and unpredictable. The side story appears after completing the Dragon Souls puzzle, where four souls must be placed in a large cave statue. Once done, look for a floating gummy bear to the left of the main path.
