Marvel Rivals Season 2 has introduced some interesting team compositions in ranked matches. As usual, players are getting creative with their approaches to quickly climb the ranks. However, some team comps you encounter may make you rage-quit. Every season and mid-season, we receive major balance changes to keep the game fun. Heroes and villains on the roster have received buffs and nerfs in Season 2.0. Based on these changes, we have a meta team comp that we believe can help you in ranked games.

Meta Team For Ranked Matches in Marvel Rivals Season 2

Due to the new balance changes in Season 2.0, some heroes are now more powerful than others. Before they get nerfed again in the mid-season update, let’s take a look at the team compositions you can play. Please note that this team composition reflects the writer’s subjective opinions, so it may not be as useful in all situations. With that said, the composition is as follows:

  • Peni Parker
  • Emma Frost
  • Hela
  • Pyslocke
  • Cloak & Dagger
  • Rocket Raccoon

Selecting this team comp does not guarantee that you will win against skilled players. The team members still have to work hard to achieve that “victory” screen. If you’re wondering why we selected these heroes for this specific team composition, continue reading below.

1. Peni Parker

Peni Parker is one of the scariest Vanguards when it comes to point control. Players who know how to play her are often untouchable because you can’t reach their backline without triggering spider mines. This season, she was buffed, and her mine-throwing cooldown and slow effect have been reduced. Since she doesn’t need to reload her primary fire, she can be highly effective at taking out characters from a distance. Her Cyber-Web Snare can also stop certain Ultimates.

2. Emma Frost

Emma Frost is the latest Vanguard added to the Marvel Rivals roster. She is designed to counter the dive meta. Her diamond form, which has a short cooldown and a long duration, can punish divers almost instantly. Additionally, she has a shield that can absorb damage or counter certain Ultimate abilities. This makes her the second anti-dive Vanguard on this team.

3. Hela

Hela remains just as useful in this season as she always has been. The developers have not nerfed her much since her release on the roster. She can two-tap squishy characters from across the map and is also a hitscan character. While she requires skill to play due to the precision needed, she is incredibly rewarding. Plus, with Emma’s shield support, she’ll be nearly untouchable. Her Ultimate ability is also a great way to control a point.

4. Psylocke

Psylocke is one of the most effective divers in the game. She has the potential to use a combo to eliminate a squishy character without the team even noticing. Moreover, she can disappear after the kill and wait for her cooldowns to complete before going in for another assassination. With Emma Frost on the team, she becomes even deadlier with her mental projection.

5. Cloak & Dagger

If you have ever wanted to play two characters at once, Cloak & Dagger is the way to go. Dagger uses her lightforce to heal teammates, while Cloak uses his darkforce to damage enemies. They even have a lock-on primary attack. Dagger can use her healing bubble to heal herself if she’s far away, allowing her to avoid dying to most diving characters. Her Ultimate is another way to control a point or area while continuously healing allies.

6. Rocket Raccoon

One of the biggest complaints from players about Rocket Raccoon in past seasons was that players who selected him would just spam healing orbs from a secluded location. This is why NetEase nerfed him by reducing the healing area. So why is he on this list? Because they added a buff that rewards Rocket players who “aim” at their teammates. When aiming the healing orbs, you can heal 55 health per hit, and each time the orb bounces, teammates receive healing.

His Ultimate was also tweaked to grant bonus health that remains as long as you’re not overpowered by a DPS Ultimate or leave the radius of the damage booster mine. On top of all this, his primary fire can melt tanks with headshots!
