If you have arrived in Clair Obscur Expedition 33 and are ready to explore Visages, prepare to work through a layered zone. Visages sits just north of Old Lumiere, and while getting there needs a bit of preparation, once you are inside, your route choices, optional battles, and rewards give you more control than many other regions. Here’s how to make sense of it all.
How To Reach Visages in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
You can only access Visages after events in Old Lumiere are complete. Esquie’s swimming ability is key here. Once that’s unlocked, swim north through the coral passages. You are looking for an island shaded in red with giant masks hovering above it.
That’s Visages. The colour scheme helps to guide you, and the floating masks confirm the location.
Choosing a Direction: The Four Paths of Visages
Once you are inside, the Plazza serves as the centre. This is your main checkpoint. From here, the layout branches out clearly:
- Joy Vale: Take the leftmost path. The lighting shifts to green as you get closer.
- Sadness Vale: Next to the Joy path, a second leftward route leads here. You will know it by the blue glow ahead.
- Anger Vale: On the far right of the Plazza area. You will need to descend using the handholds.
- The Peaks: From Blooraga’s location, head straight. It’s directly opposite the flag near this merchant.
Mask Riddle Answers by Location
Each Vale has a riddle mask. The masks ask questions, and your responses determine access. These are not randomised.
- Joy Vale mask answer: “Joy”
- Sadness Vale mask answer: “Sadness”
- Anger Vale mask answer: “Anger”
