Pulse rifles have always been good in both aspects of the game since they have a great rate of fire and range capabilities. Pulse rifles in Destiny are burst-fire weapons able to shoot 3 quick shots every time you tap the trigger. This weapon has some unique perks that can increase reload speed and do extra damage to PvE enemies. Battle Scar was reintroduced in Lightfall as a reprisal of the old version released in the Warmind expansion.

PvE Battle Scar God Roll
Slot | Trait |
---|---|
Barrel | Smallbore |
Magazine | Flared Magwell |
Perk 1 | Perpetual Motion |
Perk 2 | Kinetic Tremors |
Origin Trait | Field-Tested |
Masterwork | Range |
Mod | Minor Spec |
Barrel: Smallbore provides the gun with +7 range and stability. Having a higher range helps increase the damage fall off of the gun which means how far the bullet can travel before it starts to lose damage. Stability helps us control the recoil of this weapon. You could go Hammer-Forged Rifling if you think you can control the recoil of this weapon since it offers +10 range only.
Magazine: Flared Magwell magazine increases our stability by +5 and gives us a strong +15 reload stat. With a lightweight frame weapon you are able to get out of a fight quicker to take cover and having a high reload stat helps you get back in there.
Column 3 Perk: Perpetual Motion is very strong while moving gains a stack that last for 10 seconds capping at 2 stacks. Each stack provides 10 Stability, 10 Handling, and 10 Reload Speed. You are getting all of these buffs while you are moving. Perpetual Motion Combined with a Lightweight frame weapon is a must-have combination.
Column 4 Perk: Kinetic Tremors is unique to nonelemental primary weapons. Doing direct damage with this weapon causes a small explosion on the target that deals damage in an area. This perk is very strong since all kinetic weapons have been buffed to do more damage in PvE. This perk does not require precision hits to activate Kinetic Tremors just doing damage will proc this perk.
Masterwork: We want to have range masterwork so we have less damage fall off.
Mod: Use minor spec since it does +7.77% extra damage to red bar enemies.
Conclusion
This gun has very good perks to make it compete with some of the crafted pulse rifles. Pulse rifles have always been good in destiny 2 Battle Scar is great. The gun has some great reload stats and that extra movement speed from being a Lightweight frame will help you get out of any situation.

Barrel | Smallbore |
Magazine |
Accurized Rounds
|
Perk 1 | Perpetual Motion |
Perk 2 | High-Impact Reserves |
Origin Trait | Field-Tested |
Masterwork | Range |
Mod | Targeting Adjuster |
Barrel: For our barrel, we will use Smallbore. Smallbore provides the gun with +7 range and stability. Having a higher range helps increase the damage fall off of the gun which means how far the bullet can travel before it starts to lose damage. Stability helps us control the recoil of this weapon. You could go Hammer-Forged Rifling if you think you can control the recoil of this weapon since it offers +10 range only.
Magazine: We are going to use Accurized Rounds for our magazine. Accurized Rounds gives us +10 Range. In PvP you want to have high range on pulse rifles so you can compete with those long-range weapons.
Column 3 Perk: In this spot, we want Perpetual Motion. Just like for our PvE guide at the top, we will use Perpetual Motion in PvP also. Perpetual Motion is such a great perk. In PvP you are constantly moving. Getting the free to reload, handling, and stability that Perpetual Motion offers is very good for PvP.
Column 4 Perk: Our last perk is going to be High-Impact Reserves. This perk does 3% to 6% Increased damage when you get halfway done with your magazine. This perk is very strong in PvP if you want to be able to get some quick chain kills after you killed your first target.
Masterwork: We want to have range masterwork so we have less damage to fall off.
Mod: Use Targeting Adjuster for our mod to get some extra aim assist. This will help you land your shots against your target.
Conclusion
Pulse rifles are the current meta for Lightfall. These type of weapons are great for close to midrange encounters and if your aim is true you can even get some kills at longer ranges. If you manage to get this weapon to drop with these rolls please keep it it is very strong in PvP.
