Destiny 2 Bite of The Fox Sniper Rifle

Destiny 2 Bite of the Fox God Roll

Destiny 2 Bite of the Fox God Roll is an Saladin Aggressive Frame High damage high recoil sniper rifle. This weapon is a decent weapon for those that enjoy a ranged playstyle. Snipers have been used in Destiny as Boss killing weapons or Champion killing weapons. Sniper rifles long range offer a decent advantage against enemies since most of the enemy weapons in PvE have a travel time. This means they will not able to hit you if you are far away from them.

Why You Should Get A Bite of the Fox Sniper Rifle?

You should get Bite of the Fox Sniper Rifle because it is a rare weapon that drops from the limited game mode known as Iron Banner making it a collector’s must-have weapon to truly call yourself an Iron Lord. Snipers are decent in PvP since they offer a ranged option that if your aim is true and land a headshot you will be able to secure a kill.  Here’s our list of why you should get Bite of the Fox Sniper Rifle:

  • Ranged weapon
  • Useful for boss damage
  • Drops from a specific game mode
  • Does not take Exotic Slot
  • High zoom stat.

How to Get Bite of the Fox

Destiny 2 Iron Banner Guide - Rank Boost

Bite of the fox drops from completing Iron Banner matches and earning rank-up packages from Lord Saladin at the tower. This is a limited event, so farming this weapon is limited to when Bungie releases Iron Banner.

PvE – Bite of the Fox God Roll

BarrelSmallbore/Hammer-Forged Rifling
MagazineFlared Magwell / Appended Mag
Perk 1Rapid Hit
Perk 2Vorpal Weapon
Origin TraitSkulking Wolf
MasterworkReload Speed
ModBoss Spec

Barrel: For the barrel we will want to use Smallbore or you can flex it for Hammer-Forged Rifling. Smallbore gives us +7 range and stability, which is very helpful to extend the gun’s damage fall off. The extra stability it gives us allows us to be able to maintain our reticle on the target so we can keep landing those headshots.  If you get one with Hammer-Forged Rifling all you get is the +10 range which is not bad overall.

Magazine: The magazine is very important for this gun. Flared Magwell provides the gun with reload speed and stability. These two stat boost allows us to be able to maintain our damage, and the more stability the easier headshots will be. You could go Appended Mag for a higher magazine capacity.

Column 3 Perk: For this spot we will use Rapid Hit. Rapid Hit allows our precision hits to temporarily increase stability and reload speed this effect can stack 5 times. If you are fighting any enemy that tends to stand still and allows you to snipe them than this perk will allow you to deal constant damage to them. Being able to reload faster with this gun is important since it has a low reload stat to begin with.

Column 4 Perk: On our last column we will use Vorpal Weapon. Vorpal weapon is a very strong perk it increases damage against bosses, vehicles, and Guardians with their Super active. Vorpal is free damage to the targets that we will be going against.

Masterwork: We will be using Reload Speed masterwork so we can bump up our reload stat.

Mod: For our mod we will use Boss Spec since it adds 7.77% more damage to bosses. This mod stacks with Vorpal Weapon.

Conclusion: This sniper is not the greatest for PvE since it is missing a key perk that a majority of snipers have. If this weapon could have Triple Tap it could of been top tier but that is not the case for this weapon. Despite not having Triple Tap, Rapid Hit is still a good contender for this weapon. If you manage to get yourself this roll I advise keeping it until you get your self a better sniper for bosses.

PvP – Bite of the Fox God Roll

BarrelHammer-Forged Rifling
MagazineAccurized Rounds
Perk 1Snapshot Sights
Perk 2Opening Shot
Origin TraitSkulking Wolf
MasterworkRange
ModTargeting Adjuster

Barrel: For our barrel we want Hammer-Forged Rifling. Hammer-Forged Rifling offers a solid +10 to the range stat which in PvP allows the weapon to gain better targeting. Destiny guns in crucible have a hidden stat known as bullet magnetism which is provided by the range stat. Bullet magnetism means how well the weapon will be able to hit its target when you are aiming while they are moving. In short the more range a weapon has the more bullet magnetism it will get.

Magazine: We want to use Accurized Rounds because it offers a solid +10 to the range stat. Once again bullet magnetism is buffed by the range stat so we to get as much range on this sniper as we can get.

Column 3 Perk: For this spot we will use Snapshot Sights. Increases how fast you are able to aim down sights with this weapon. Since PvP is very fast paced you want this perk so you can peek at an enemy and land a headshot on them. Snapshot Sights will make quick scoping very easy with this weapon.

Column 4 Perk: For our last perk we want Opening Shot. Opening Shot gives us greatly improved accuracy and range on the opening shot of attack. The keywords for this is opening shot of attack. We do not need a full magazine to gain this buff we just need to wait 3 seconds for the perk to be active again. Opening Shot’s improved accuracy makes it very easy for us to land headshots against opponents.

Masterwork: We will want Range masterwork so we can get more bullet magnetism so we can get those headshots more consistent.

Mod: Finally, we will use Targeting Adjuster so we can get extra aim assist with our gun. Aim assist also works for mouse and keyboard so feel free to use this if you play on PC.

Conclusion: This gun is very good for PvP since it has almost max range with these perks we have chosen. With a range stat of 100 you could aim at a target’s upper torso and the game will register a headshot. Snipers take a lot of practice and this one offers you perks to make getting headshots easier.
