Destiny 2 Chattering Bone Pulse Rifle

Destiny 2 Chattering Bone God Roll and How to Get

Welcome to our Destiny 2 Chattering Bone God Roll and How to Get Guide. The Chattering Bone is a Lightweight Frame Pulse Rifle that can be obtained as a drop from the Last Wish raid available with the Forsaken Expansion.

Chattering Bone

As of Season of the Deep, Chattering Bone can be crafted once its Resonant Pattern is unlocked. Pulse Rifles are a great ranged weapon option that fall somewhere in the middle of Scout Rifles and Auto Rifles. They are primarily used for clearing minor combatants at a distance while still being decent at mid ranges.

Why You Should Get the Chattering Bone Pulse Rifle

You should get Chattering Bone Pulse Rifle because it is a great pulse rifle with above average stats. Like its sister Lightweight Frame, the Battlescar, the Chattering Bone can roll with Kinetic Tremors. It can also be crafted essentially making it better in most respects. It is a decent PvE weapon for most content even if it gets outclassed by other weapons. Here’s our list of why you should get the Chattering Bone Pulse Rifle:

  • Excellent stats for its archetype
  • Can roll with Kinetic Tremors
  • Craftable

How to get Chattering Bone God Roll in Destiny 2

In order to get the Chattering Bone Pulse Rifle, the player needs to do encounters in the Last Wish raid which is located in the Dreaming City. Chattering Bone can drop from any encounter or hidden chest inside of the Raid. Chattering Bone can also be crafted at the Enclave once the Deepsight Pattern has been completely unlocked.

In order to acquire the Deepsight Pattern of the Last Wish Weapons, players will need to go to the Clan Vendor, Suraya Hawthorne at the Tower and acquire the “O Deepsight Mine” quest. This quest guarantees a red border weapon on completion and only requires that every encounter in the raid be completed. This quest can be completed weekly and once completed the player can purchase an additional Deepsight Pattern the player has unlocked in collections. Deepsight Patterns can also sometimes drop with the weapons acquired during the raid itself or have it applied to them with a Deepsight Harmonizer.

PvE Chattering Bone God Roll

Barrel: This weapon kicks all over the place for a Lightweight frame pulse rifle, so Arrowhead Brake will help mitigate that.

Magazine: Since this will most likely be the minor combatant clearing weapon as a primary, a high magazine capacity or good reload speed is essential. Flared Magwell gets great reload speed, but don’t shy away from magazine size enhancing perks either such as Tactical Mag or Appended Mag.

Column 3 Trait: Column 3 has a decent amount of good traits. The best among them for PvE is Rapid Hit to get some consistent bonuses to the weapons stats. Another interesting option is Kill Clip which can be paired in column 4 with Rampage to double dip the damage bonuses.

Column 4 Trait: Kinetic Tremors is a fantastic perk for PvE and the best choice for most situations in PvE. Again another interesting choice is Rampage to pair with Kill Clip in column 3.

Origin Trait: No options here but Explosive Pact is actually a decent bonus trait. Use grenades often.

Masterwork: This pulse Rifle suffers from poor range so a Range masterwork or frame will compensate for that weakness.

Mods: Minor Spec is typically a better choice for primaries but content may dictate that it be swapped out.

Conclusion: Chattering Bone has always been a decent choice for PvE when a kinetic pulse rifle was needed. The new version actually only improves its effectiveness. Lightweight frames are not very common, but this one is probably a better option than Battlescar as it is craftable. Chattering Bone’s biggest weakness is that Outbreak Perfected overshadows it if a kinetic pulse rifle is required.

PvP Chattering Bone God Roll

Barrel: Again, the kick on this weapon is all over the place and in PvP that could cost a headshot. Mitigate it with Arrowhead Brake.

Magazine: Range is king in PvP. As such Accurized Rounds is the all around best choice by far.

Column 3 Trait: This particular god roll was created with one idea in mind, reaching the optimal TTK. To do that, stack Kill Clip with Rampage in Column 4. Once a groove is found, some could easily two-burst enemy guardians. Yeah it takes some work to get there, but this is for the best of the best. For a more rounded, perk choose Rangefinder.

Column 4 Trait: Rampage pairs so well with Kill Clip going for the optimal TTK. If Rangefinder was opted for instead, go with Headseeker or High-Impact Reserves.

Origin Trait: While more situational in PvP than PvE, this origin trait is still a decent free bonus.

Masterwork: Range is king in PvP. The farther out the damage fall off starts the better.

Mods: Targeting Adjuster is an easy choice for PvP. Making your enemies easier to hit is just a no brainer. That being said, if the recoil causes trouble, opt for Counterbalance Stock instead.

Conclusion: Lightweight frames are a rarity in the game in general and so they aren’t often seen in PvP. While this weapon has a really powerful perk combo, it will still most likely be outclassed by its peers in less experience hands. For the best players though, this weapon has potential that few weapons have, a sub .5 second optimal TTK.
