Destiny 2 Eleatic Principle Machine Gun
Eleatic Principle Machine Gun

The Eleatic Principle is a Rapid-Fire Frame Arc Machine Gun introduced in Season of the Witch that can be obtained from Season 22 activities. Machine guns have always had a place in PvE due to their decent boss damage output, great add clear, and often fantastic ammo economy. In PvP, they are potent heavy ammo weapons capable of achieving multiple kills with a single heavy ammo spawn.

Why You Should Get the Eleatic Principle Machine Gun?

You should get the Eleatic Principle because it is a fairly easy to obtain weapon. It has the potential to be a powerful arc weapon in PvE. Its also craftable making its god roll easy to obtain. Here’s our list of why you should get Eleatic Principle Machine Gun:

  • Easy to acquire
  • Powerful Arc PvE Weapon
  • Craftable

How to Obtain the Eleatic Principle in Destiny 2

Eleatic Principle can be obtained from either Season of the Witch seasonal activity. This includes end of activity rewards for Altars of Summoning or Savathun’s Spire, Season of the Witch Weekly Challenges, and turning in Witch’s Engrams. Once the weapon has been earned you can focus it at the Ritual Table in the H.E.L.M for Witch’s Engrams, Glimmer, and Legendary Shards. These seasonal activities and vendors will only be available until the end of Season 23. Eleatic Principle can also be crafted at the Enclave once its Deepsight Pattern has been completely unlocked.

Eleatic Principle PvE God Roll

Our choices for the Eleatic Principle PvE God Roll are:

ColumnTrait
BarrelArrowhead Brake
MagazineAppended Mag
Column 3 TraitZen Moment
Column 4 TraitTarget Lock
MasterworkRange

The Eleatic Principal is a great arc weapon to have for PvE. While it only has one great roll, its ease of getting it sets it above other arc machine guns. Arrowhead Brake is a necessary choice for the barrel perk to offset its erratic recoil pattern. Appended Mag is another easy choice to get as many rounds in the magazine as possible. For its masterwork, there really isn’t a wrong choice, but range will definitely do this weapon the most good.

There is really only one perk combination that jumps out at you for PvE, and that is Zen Moment and Target Lock. Those perks were almost made to go together, especially on a rapid fire frame machine gun. Some players may opt for Golden Tricorn, but I personally find the way that perk procs to be far too situational to be worth it.

This weapon looks like its going to be a great option to have, especially with how good Machine Guns are in the current PvE meta. Absolutely worth going after.

Other great machine guns to substitute for this weapon in PvE include:

  • Retrofit Escapade, from the Seraph Shield Exotic Mission Rotator
  • Commemoration, from the Deep Stone Crypt raid
  • Circular Logic, from Terminal Overload on Neomuna

Eleatic Principle PvP God Roll

Our choices for the Eleatic Principle PvP God Roll are:

ColumnTrait
BarrelHammer-Forged Rifling
MagazineRicochet Rounds
Column 3 TraitMoving Target
Column 4 TraitTap the Trigger
MasterworkRange

This weapon would be played completely different in PvP than it would in PvE. We want to maximize the range of the weapon as much as we can so any barrel or magazine perk that does that is the best choice. Ricochet Rounds is the best choice for the Magazine, and the barrel perks give us several good options. For our masterwork, the only choice is range.

Like our PvE god roll, there is really only one good combination here. Moving target will help us stay mobile while engaging targets. Tap the Trigger will make our shots more accurate if we burst fire the weapon, which is all that is needed to get a kill with a machine gun.

Overall, this weapon works well in PvP too, although I’d much prefer a slower firing frame myself. Craft the PvE roll and opt for another machine gun unless you just absolutely love how this thing feels in the Crucible.

Other great machine guns to substitute for this weapon in PvP include:

  • Commemoration, from the Deep Stone Crypt raid
  • Unwavering Duty, from Trials of Osiris
  • Circular Logic, from Terminal Overload on Neomuna
