Destiny 2 Semiotician God Roll and How to Get

This Destiny 2 guide explains the best god roll for the Semiotician rocket launcher for both PvE and PvP content!

Destiny 2 Semiotician Rocket Launcher
Semiotician Rocket Launcher

The Semiotician is a High-Impact Frame Strand Rocket Launcher introduced in Season of the Witch that can be obtained from Season 22 activities. Rocket Launchers are the absolute king of damage meta in almost all situations, with their only downside being dangerous to use due to accidental deaths.

Why You Should Get the Semiotician Rocket Launcher?

You should get the Semiotician because it is the better of the two Strand Rocket Launchers in the game. Its fairly easy to acquire as well. Its also craftable, which means its god roll is easy to obtain. Here’s our list of why you should get the Semiotician rocket launcher:

  • Better Strand Rocket Launcher
  • Easy to acquire
  • Craftable

How to Obtain the Semiotician in Destiny 2

Semiotician can be obtained from either Season of the Witch seasonal activity. This includes end of activity rewards for Altars of Summoning or Savathun’s Spire, Season of the Witch Weekly Challenges, and turning in Witch’s Engrams. Once the weapon has been earned you can focus it at the Ritual Table in the H.E.L.M for Witch’s Engrams, Glimmer, and Legendary Shards. These seasonal activities and vendors will only be available until the end of Season 23. The Semiotician can also be crafted at the Enclave once its Deepsight Pattern has been completely unlocked.

Semiotician PvE God Roll

Our choices for the Semiotician PvE God Roll are:

Launcher BarrelQuick Launch
MagazineImpact Casing
Column 3 TraitField Prep
Column 4 TraitExplosive Light

The Semiotician isn’t a terrible rocket launcher, but it definitely lacks some of the flash that the best rocket launchers have. Like any rocket launcher, its barrel isn’t all that important for PvE. Anything that helps its handling, blast radius, or velocity will do just fine. And again like any rocket launcher Impact Casing is always the best choice due to its intrinsic increase in damage. A handling or reload speed masterwork is decent but anything other than stability will do just fine.

In Column 3, the only perk that seems worth it for PvE is Field Prep. Explosive Light is the premier choice for the Column 4; however, Bipod did get a buff and may actually be worth using. This still needs a little testing, but if its any good, then this rocket may just go from average C TIer to B or even A Tier. Otherwise there just isn’t much here.

Sadly this rocket just has way too much competition for me to recommend, but its not a bad choice if you don’t have the better options.

Other great rocket launchers to substitute for this weapon in PvE include:

  • Apex Predator, from the Last Wish raid
  • Cold Comfort, from the Ghost of the Deep dungeon
  • Bump in the Night, from the Presage Exotic Mission Rotator

Semiotician PvP God Roll

Our choices for the Semiotician PvP God Roll are:

Launcher BarrelQuick Launch
MagazineBlack Powder
Column 3 TraitImpulse Amplifier
Column 4 TraitDanger Zone

Almost any rocket is effective in PvP, basically allowing for a free single (or multi) kill. The perks for the barrel and magazine don’t matter too much so long as they don’t hurt the blast radius of the rocket. Handling is nice as it allows for a nice quick swap to the rocket, so anything that increases that is really good.

There are too many great traits for PvP on this rocket, but honestly traits don’t matter that much. Impulse Amplifier is a for sure pick in Column 3 and the only thing in Column 4 that looks any good is Danger Zone. Again though, Bipod seems like it could be decent if certain criteria are met. May be worth a try.

Overall, this rocket isn’t the best for PvP, but its still as effective as any other rocket launcher in PvP.

Other great rocket launchers to substitute for this weapon in PvP include:

  • Apex Predator, from the Last Wish raid
  • Palmyra-B, from random world drops
