In this guide, we shall go over how to defeat the Court of Blades in Destiny 2 and will share some tips and tricks to help you.

Destiny 2’s Episode Heresy: Act 2 is out and has brought with it a plethora of new content. The Court of Blades is one new piece of content, a timed activity, that has taken many players by surprise due to its difficulty.
The Court of Blades is a lot like the Court of Oryx activity we saw in the original Destiny. This activity requires you to deal with multiple bosses and is essentially a boss rush game mode. While this may seem easy on paper, you also have to juggle several objectives called “Augmentations” while dealing with the bosses, all within the span of the 10 minutes this activity lasts.
With so many things to juggle all crammed into 10 minutes, it is no wonder that some players are struggling with the Court of Blades, unsure of how to approach it. Even players familiar with the Court of Oryx are having a fairly rough time with the Court of Blades. If you’re someone stuck on this activity and are unsure how to proceed, we’re here to help you out. In this guide, we shall go over how to defeat the Court of Blades in Destiny 2.

How To Complete the Court of Blades in Destiny 2
Understanding the Basics

As soon as you kick off the Court of Blades activity in Destiny 2, you have to neutralize hostiles in the Hall of Souls as your first objective. Pick up the worm right underneath the bridge where you spawn and proceed ahead with this objective.
Once the hostiles are dealt with, your objective will then update and read “Kneel.” A few zones will then spawn in at the center of the hall. Stand in these zones alongside your teammates to kick off the encounters. On either side of these zones, you’ll see statues that will have your Augmentation objectives pinned on them. There’ll be only two before the first encounter and will then increase to four after that.
Augmentations are specific objectives that require you to approach fights in a specific way. For instance, the Augmentation “Adapt” requires you to counter regenerating shields by matching the elemental type. Alongside Augmentations, you will also find “Hazards.” These are pretty much debuffs that serve to make the encounter more difficult.

The Gameplay Loop
Now that you’ve understood the objectives, it is time to get started. As you stand on the zones in the Hall of Zones, a portal will spawn before you. This portal can take you to one of three areas: Rathmore Subterrain, Remnant of Silver, or the Hive Warship.
You will teleport to one of the three aforementioned areas, and you will then have to kill one boss, after which another boss will spawn in. Kill this boss, and you will then be done with the area. You can exit the portal to return to the Hall of Souls. Continue to do this process in a loop till you defeat 13 bosses or run out of time. If you run out of time in the middle of a boss run, you will be pushed into the “Final Round,” and the game will let you complete your encounter.
Tips and Tricks

- Killing the bosses or completing Augmentations will grant you Runes and will fill up the Rune meter on the bottom left corner of your screen. Fill up the meter, and you will move up a tier, granting you access to more powerful Runes. Once you’re out of the level, you can purchase powerful upgrades by spending the Runes you earned to make your fights easier. Take note, however, that if you have Tier 2 Runes and spend Runes to purchase Tier 1 upgrades, you will consume all the Runes you have. Make sure to purchase the powerful Runes to give you the advantage in battle.
- An Ammo box lies near the portal zones in the game. This box can fill up your Heavy and Special ammo in the game, ensuring you’re appropriately stocked up before an encounter. Make sure to use these before you head on to take a fight.
- When in the hub between encounters, you get 45 seconds to prepare. Make sure to take this time to read up on all the Augmentations and Hazards on the statues in the Hall of Souls. When in battle, you will have little time to read up on the Augmentations, so we recommend doing so during the prep phase. Doing so ensures you’re aptly prepared for battle.
