How to Get Destiny 2 Season 21 Artifact – Walkthrough
The first time you log into a character during Season 21, Season of the Deep, you will be shown a brief cutscene, and then sent into a new Mission called The Descent. You will spawn on a platform and be given a quest indicator (white diamond icon) to direct you to the first location.
Upon arriving in the first room, taken enemies will begin to spawn in various sections of the room. Kill all these enemies to progress to the next area.
Once you kill all the enemies, the quest icon will continue to a door and outside onto the rig. Follow the path, enemies will spawn but they can be ignored and continued past.
After arriving on the central area of the rig, you will notice enemies spawning near the edge of the platform next to a hive totem plate. Kill all the enemies then proceed to stand on the plate, this will begin to silence the battlesong.
As you stand on the plate, you will notice a percentage meter in the middle of your screen letting you know the progress of silencing the battle song. To continue to progress the meter, you must stay on the plate and kill the enemies approaching the plate. While this takes place, a debuff will appear on the side of your screen called Overwhelming Battlesong. This debuff will limit your ability to use skills so you will need to rely on your weapons to kill any remaining enemies. Once the meter is complete you can step off the plate and kill any remaining enemies.
As you proceed following the quest icon, you will come upon an area with two more totems, one on each side. You repeat the process for the first totem on these two totems. After the last totem has been completed, a mini boss will spawn called Azshradat, Celebrant of Xivu Arath. You need to take out about 25% of his health bar to force him to despawn. Remember, during this time you will still have the debuff limiting your abilities including your super.
Once the miniboss has been phased, proceed up the large cranes to the upmost platforms and follow the quest icon until you arrive in a small room with large windows overlooking the rig.
Upon arriving you will be told the device in the center of the room needs power, simply follow the icon to a small power orb, pick it up, carry it to the device, and deposit it inside.
Once the power orb has been deposited, you will see 4 screens near the device light up, simply interact with them until both the triangle shapes are in the same area. You will know you have done this right when the shapes turn from red to blue.
Once you have gotten all 4 screens to change to blue and the monitor behind them to show 100% the quest will progress. It will take you through a doorway at the front of the room by the windows. You will be prompted to jump into a methane filled hole.
Upon entering the liquid methane you will begin to slowly descend into a small room with a lever on one side. A new debuff will always appear on the left side of your screen called Pressure Resistance. As that depletes you will begin to take damage, but do not fear, Drifter will save you just before you are to die.
After saving you by bringing you onto his ship. There will be a brief audio monologue by Drifter at which point he will give you a new device to pick up in a crate.
Drifter will port you back down near the methane hole again. Jump into it. When you do you will see orbs floating in the water, picking these up will reset your Pressure Resistance bar allowing you to stay in the methane longer. Proceed through the rooms, there will be multiple, by pulling the levels on the walls near the bottom of each room.
After opening the floor in the final room, you will be dropped into a coral underwater forest with a human building near by. Proceed towards the building. Upon approaching the door a short cut scene will play.
Once the cutscene if complete, it will spawn you in the room you were just in with the cutscene. Proceed over where you see Sloan and Zavala and they will begin a dialogue.
Upon the completion of the dialogue, you will be prompted to talk to Sloane through the projector in the Helm. Turn around in the direction you spawned and there will be a blue portal at the far end of the room.
Once you proceed through the portal, interact with the holoprojector and complete the quest. This will unlock the artifact and it will now be located in the bottom left of your character screen below your heavy ammo weapon. Make sure to pick up the “Into the Depths” quest as this is the seasonal quest that will be updated each week to continue the story,
