In Update 46 of The Elder Scrolls Online, subclassing adds a seemingly endless array of customization options to builds. In the case of the Dragonknight, this feature can be used especially well for PvE builds to create an unassailable tank. This article outlines a build for the Dragonknight class by subclassing into the Necromancer’s Bone Tyrant skill line. It excels in both general PvE and high-end content like Veteran Dungeons or the Infinite Archive.

This build subclasses into the Bone Tyrant line from the Necromancer class to round out the Dragonknight’s toolkit. Abilities like Necrotic Potency help generate ultimate faster by absorbing nearby corpses. Beckoning Armor adds a layer of crowd control by pulling ranged enemies in close, helping you maintain control over the battlefield.

Dragonknight-Necromancer Skills

Start each battle with a taunt, and maintain it on a hostile throughout. For large groups, follow the taunt up with an immobilizing skill like Binding Contingency. Maintain a resistance buff at all times, and heal whenever required. In addition to blocking, use heavy attacks frequently between skill uses. Heavy attacking and immediately following it up with Igneous Shield will replenish stamina dramatically.

Primary:

  • Igneous Shield
  • Ruinous Scyth
  • Pierce Armor
  • Necrotic Potency
  • Cinder Storm
  • Spell Wall (Ultimate)

Backup:

  • Sanguine Altar
  • Beckoning Armor
  • Cauterize
  • Unrelenting Grip
  • Binding Contingency
  • Ravenous Goliath (Ultimate)

Attributes

Spec all attribute points into health to maximize the Dragonknight-Necromancer’s tankiness. The additional health synergizes well with the constant healing applied through skills, providing a vast and replenishing pool of hit points.

Mundus Stone

Choose the Atronarch Mundus to boost Magicka recovery. This is important to have constant access to skills during longer fights.
