Hogwarts Legacy Quests just like in any RPG game is a core element, thus it’s extremely important to understand all features and mechanics it has to offer. Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world introduced in the Harry Potter books. It’s quite easily one of the 2023 most highly-anticipated games. The game takes place at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1800s. Players can create their own Wizard or Witch and explore the magical open world, attend classes, fly on magical creatures, fight casting spells, make potions and much more.
Hogwarts Legacy Main Quest
There is an engaging story thread to explore for players as the student finds themselves holding the key to an ancient secret which threatens the wizarding world. The player character is a new student at Hogwarts, but for reasons yet unclear is starting as a ‘late 5th year.’ They’ll have some catching up to do, both in their studies and in meeting and integrating with other students and the social life of the school.
The protagonist will come to find that they possess the “unique ability to manipulate powerful ancient magic hidden in the wizarding world.” This forgotten magic is now returning, and the player will have to uncover who or what could be behind the resurgence of this old power, as well as discover those who might be seeking to harness it for their own nefarious purposes.
Hogwarts Legacy Quests
Hogwarts Legacy is an RPG and offers fully-voiced quests, that can be found everywhere in the castle. Each quest has multiple choices for players to choose from, thus the game has multiple endings. Almost every player’s quest decision matters. It brings a unique experience for every player and the game’s huge replayability!
The Quests are marked on a map and also with a golden circle around the quest giver, so extreamly easy to find. The dialogue options with the question mark provide information about the topic, and the options with the square icon will progress a conversation.
Hogwarts Legacy dialogue
Now we need to talk about Game structure and questing. The Hogwarts Legacy Gameplay is split into chapters, each with a set of main quests and side quests. Some spells will be relevant to quests and progression to quests, so you need to expect them to have certain requirements, like spell knowledge or level.
To help us progress through the story as wizards or witches, students attend Hogwarts classes. During the courses, they can learn spells, and major wizarding world tools which will lead to experience and progress. It’s all registered in the Wizards Field Guide shown in the picture below. The guide also contains all major spells and abilities you’ll learn from professors, as well as your achievements, and collections.
