The difficulty of the challenges rises as you go up the floors. The battle mechanisms also become more complex. Roaring Avolos Umbramancer is not like the bosses you have already defeated. The Umbramancer wields a magical staff and casts some powerful effects on you. You need to be careful when fighting him. Let’s get familiar with his attack patterns.

Roaring Avolos Umbramancer Abilities and How to Counter Them

  • The first and primary ability of the Umbramancer you need to worry about is the Maze of Death.  As the name suggests, the boss will create a highly dangerous maze during the battle. Before creating the maze, he will pull you towards him, which you can’t avoid or escape. After pulling you to the center of the arena, he will disappear and create a maze puzzle throughout the arena. Dark energy created from the center of the arena spreads towards the corners. The only way to avoid them is to find a way to get out of the maze. Using proper camera angles assists you in finding the way. It is also wise to use Dash Morph to get out quickly, but keep an eye on the stamina level.
  • Once you escape the maze, the walls will fall and the Umbramancer will emerge at the center. Dark blue circles are found all over the ground. You need to move away from the circles to avoid getting hit by lightning strikes.
  • Similar to the previous one, he will periodically raise his staff, which creates three small circle spots in the ground. You need to move from them before lightning strikes. Once he loses most of his health, he will summon six small circle spots instead of three.
  • Launching a beam of energy is another one of his abilities you need to take care of. Go sidewards when you see a high-energy beam projected towards you in a straight line. You can also time the purple circle and perform a perfect block.
