From the start of the game, the tiefling refugee child Mol refuses to let circumstances get in her way. She leads a group of refugee children with the same fearlessness and scheming as an experienced crime boss. And woe to you if you interfere with her plans. You can encounter Mol across all three Acts of Baldur’s Gate 3, so long as you make sure no harm comes to her during the crisis at the Emerald Grove. Additionally, if you play your cards right you can earn her loyalty as an ally during the final battle.

This guide will break down how to find Mol, the steps you need to take to make sure she stays safe, how to encounter her again in the following acts, and how to take to secure her help later on. Therefore, this article will contain some spoilers for story events throughout the game.

To find Mol in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3, you will first need to gain access to the Tiefling Hideout beneath the Hollow. You can sneak your way in by passing a low Perception check and using a small entrance hole as a halfling or gnome. However, this won’t get you on Mol’s good side. Therefore, we don’t recommend this option.

The best way is to assist other tiefling children. Primarily Mirkon, who is being enchanted by harpies to the northeast of the Sacred Pool. As you approach you’ll hear some strange singing, and a group of harpies will fly down to attack. After defeating them, speak to Mirkon. He will gratefully tell you to speak to Doni. This mute child will let you into the Hideout through the Concealed Hatch so that Mol can properly thank you.

When you speak with Mol, your goal should be to stay on her good side. This is because she can become a trader here and again in Act 3.

Finally, after saving Mirkon the next step is to make sure you save the tiefling refugees by defeating the goblin leaders and defending the Grove. If you anger the Duids, then they may attack the refugees. And if you do not kill the goblin leaders, then they will attack the Grove. The surest way to save everyone in the Emerald Grove is not to antagonize the Druids and make sure that the Goblins don’t attack.

How to Find Mol in Act 2

To find Mol in Act 2, you need to locate the Last Light Inn and convince Jaheira to let you inside. If Mol has survived Act 1, then there is a chance that she may vouch for your party in this scene.

Afterward, make your way through the courtyard and into the inn building. Over on the left, at the bottom of the stairs that take you to the second floor, you’ll find Mol and Raphael playing lanceboard. Interact and you can encourage Mol either way, but you won’t learn exactly what she and Raphael might be up to yet.

After you speak to the Cleric Isobel on the second floor, the Inn will be attacked and Mol will be kidnapped. This will officially start the Find Mol quest. Unfortunately, you won’t see her in person again during Act 2.

However, you can find evidence of her near the end of the Act. Down in the Mind Flayer Colony, in a room on the south side of the map at the center. Look on a table with several other artifacts from Balthazar to locate Mol’s eye patch. It’s not much in the way of information, but it’s all the evidence you’ll discover for now.

When you first enter Act 3 you’ll be in an area outside of the city called Rivington. Mol won’t be here, but you can find her associate Mattis down by the Requisitioned Barn on the east side of the map. Unfortunately, he doesn’t make any mention of Mol, although he does have some goods for trade.

To find Mol in Act 3, you will need to continue until you enter the Lower City and then visit the Guildhall near the southeast coast. From the main door, head down the stairs and take a right. Head down the platform and you’ll finally discover Mol. You can ask her how she got out of Moonrise, but she won’t give you a straight answer. Moreover, you’ll notice that she no longer needs her eye patch.

Mol is working for the Guild now, and you can talk to her partner ‘Sticky’ if you’re interested in purchasing supplies. The Shade-Slayer Cloak should be of particular interest.

That should conclude the Find Mol quest. However, if you take some additional steps as you continue your adventure, you can secure Mol as an ally.

How to Get Mol as an Ally

To get Mol as an ally in Baldur’s Gate 3 you must save the tieflings at the Emerald Grove, interact with her at the Last Light Inn, find her at the Guildhall, and finally steal her Contract from the House of Hope. You’re likely seeking out the House of Hope for independent reasons having to do with your own contract with Raphael and/or the Orphic Hammer.

Once you’re inside, you can discover Mol’s Contract with Raphael within the vault locked by an Inert Infernal Gem. When you’ve successfully escaped the House of Hope, return to Mol at the Guildhall. Offer her the Contract, but DON’T tell her that you’ve killed Raphael. If you do tell her she will be angry and not offer her help. If you return the contract and obscure how you got it, then she’ll grant you a passive later on at High Hall.

Consequently, the Fetcher’s Favour passive will be granted to your whole party. Everyone can cast the Rays of Fire spell. Additionally, it reduces all Fire damage by 5, and you gain an additional 1d4 to Charisma Checks and Saving Throws.
