To get the Alchemist Mortar in Enshrouded you must reach the Alchemist’s Tower, and press the button up in the tower to unlock the gates in the basement where the mortar is.
First, the best way to reach the Alchemist’s Tower is to glide there from the top of the Revelwood Ancient Spire. If you’ve already completed this tower, then it will be easy to fast travel. Move around the tower until you face south, and then jump to glide over. The Alchemist’s Tower will be sticking up out of the top of the shroud.
Depending on the strength of your glider, you may or may not be able to land on the top of the tower. However, this would be the faster route, because you need to follow a couple of steps in The Alchemist’s Mortar quest first.
How to Complete The Alchemist’s Mortar in Enshrouded
Once you reach the Alchemist’s Tower and go inside, a trip to the basement reveals that the mortar is behind a locked gate. You need to gain access to this room in order to get the mortar and complete the quest. To complete The Alchemist’s Mortar quest, follow these steps:
- Find the Alchemist’s Tower in the Shroud south of the Revelwood Ancient Spire
- From the entrance, climb up the tower.
- About halfway up, go out a side door, then around, and into another side door.
- Inside this separate space, you’ll find a glowing orange glyph. Press the button below it.
- Now you can head back down to the basement laboratory.
- The locked gate will now be open, and you can find the Alchemist’s Mortar just inside.
- Return to the Alchemist, and physically place the Mortar somewhere nearby.
How to Use the Alchemist Mortar in Enshrouded
First, to use the Mortar in Enshrouded you need to return to the Alchemist and place the mortar using the building UI. This officially counts as ‘giving’ the Alchemist the mortar, which will complete the quest and officially unlock new recipes. One of those recipes allows you to create new mortars, should you ever need one. Furthermore, having the mortar for the Alchemist will unlock several brand-new recipes for crafting and consumables. Finding the Alchemist’s Mortar will unlock the following recipes:
- Potions:
- Greater Health Potion
- Mana Potion
- Flask of the Fell
- Spell Resources:
- Fireball II
- Chain Lightning
- Chain Heal
- Crafting Materials:
