The Braindrain Gloves are found in the Mindflayer Colony granting the user mental fatigue when dealing psychic damage. To access the Mindflayer Colony, players must complete Act 2 and then solve a puzzle inside the area. The mental fatigue debuff helps deal extra psychic damage, and to trigger it, you will need psychic damage. You can also obtain the Blade of Oppressed Souls in the same area, which also does psychic damage and pairs well together. Lastly, another item, Ring of Mental Inhibition, also does mental fatigue if you wish to pair the two items together. Below is the effect of Mental Fatigue:
Mental Fatigue is a debuff with the following effects:
- Affected entity has a -1 penalty to Wisdom, Intelligence and Charisma saving throws for every turn remaining.
- When it fails a Wisdom, Intelligence, or Charisma saving throw while having 5 or more turns of this condition remaining, the entity takes 1d4 Psychic damage and is no longer mentally fatigued.
- Mental Fatigue has a maximum Duration of 7 turns.

How to get Braindrain Gloves in BG3?
To get the Braindrain Gloves in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll need to proceed through Act 2 until you reach the Mind Flayer Colony at the very end. You will find the Necrotic Laboratory in the southeastern corner of the area map. When you reach the Laboratory, the room’s central focus will be some lighted orbs hanging over a chasm.
Approach the control pedestal to interact with the mechanism and you will be able to control the path each colored light takes. Use the image below of the completed puzzle to move each yellow, green, blue, and purple light down the correct pathway.
Finally, after you have solved the puzzle, a large secret door will open at the back. Step through, and you will find the Blade of Oppressed Souls and the Braindrain Gloves on your left.
