How to Get Diadem of Arcane Synergy in Baldur’s Gate 3
Ardent Jhe’rezath in Inquisitor Chambers drops the Diadem of Arcane Synergy in Creche Y’llek in Mountain Pass during Act 1. First, progress until you reach Mountain Pass in Act 1, and ensure you are ready to head to Creche Y’llek. It’s the home to Githyanki warriors, and your choices there matter and are part of the main storyline. In Creche you can also get the legendary Blood of Lathander and one of the permanent bonuses from Zaith’isk Chair.
Find the Githyannki and Creche Y’llek
You can find the Diadem of Arcane Synergy and Ardent Jhe’rezath, who wears it in the Githyanki Creche. The entrance to the creche is from the Monastery, where it’s worth exploring the area and solving ceremonial weapon puzzles to get the Blood of Lathander, a mighty legendary mace.
When you’re ready to enter Creche Y’llek, you can jump down from the damaged stairs on the east side of the Monastery (X: 109; Y: 22). Below, you’ll find another set of stairs leading to the Creche, a place filled with NPCs, valuable loot, merchants, and potential side quests. If your aim to obtain the legendary mace, your next step is to proceed to the Inquisitor Chambers, which is also part of the Lae’zel and Remove Toadpole questlines.
Note: none of those steps or quests are required to obtain the Diadem of Arcane Synergy. You can simply kill everyone in Creche and get it. Still, it’s a good idea to talk to everyone and check out merchants’ wares before you decide your next steps and confront the Inquisitor in Inquisitor Chambers.
Head to Inquisitor Chambers
However, before you can access Inquisitor Chambers, you must deactivate an energy field in the commander’s office. You have a few options for disabling this energy field, including attempting to steal the red gem from the Githyanki commander and discreetly inserting it into the device. Alternatively, you can inform her about the artifact, and she will direct you to meet the Inquisitor. Rest assured, even if you reveal that you possess the artifact, they won’t be able to take it from you.
Regardless of how you resolve this situation, the conversation and information you can gather in the Inquisitor Chambers are valuable, especially considering that you’ll ultimately need to visit the Inquisitor’s Chambers to obtain the Blood of Lathander and Diadem of Arcane Synergy.
Get the Diadem of Arcane Synergy
After you speak with Inquisitor and Vlaketh, the Githyanki will typically become hostile, and you’ll need to fight to survive. Inquisitor is a tough opponent and the best strategy to win this fight is to use any stun or crowd control skills and spells to exclude some of the warriors, before they can perform their attack. Another strategy, if it’s your second playthrough and you’ve already heard and seen all the cutscenes, is to sneak into the Inquisitor chamber and attack first to surprise the enemy. Surprised enemies are forced to skip their first turn, giving you a significant advantage at the start.
After the fight with the inquisitor and Githyanki guards, locate Ardent Jhe’rezath’s body and loot the Diadem of Arcane Synergy from her.
