Palworld, the survival crafting game by Pocket Pair, features Pokemon-like creatures called Pals and blazing guns, earning it the nickname ‘‘Pokemon with Guns.” While guns are incredibly powerful in Palworld, you need to progress further to get them, and more importantly, the ammo.
Ammos for various weapons requires Gunpowder as a core component. In Palworld, switching from melee weapons to ranged weapons becomes essential for later-game progression, as you will encounter more deadly bosses and enemies. Ways to Obtain Gunpowder in Palworld
In Palworld, you can get Gunpowder in two ways. You can either hunt down a specific Pal or you can craft it by yourself.
Obtain as a Drop From Tocotoco
Obtaining the Gunpowder from Tocotoco is the most reliable way to get the resource in Palworld, especially in early gameplay. Tocotoco is the only Pal that drops Gunpowder when defeated. These unique Pals explode themselves when approached close.
Tocotoco can be found in desert biomes at the coordinates (134, -95). Usually, they roam around in deserts in flocks, so you can easily farm a significant amount of Gunpowder in a single run. Defeat or capture these Tocotoco Pals to get Gunpowder.
Craft at High-Quality Workbench
Crafting is another way to get Gunpowder, serving as a reliable long-term method of producing the resource. Once you reach level 21, you can unlock the blueprint of Gunpowder via the Technology section with 2 Technology points. Muskets and Coarse Ammo are the other blueprints that unlock at level 21. Then, you need the following resources to craft Gunpowder:
- Charcoal (2): Obtained from any Furnace by burning 2 woods.
- Sulfur (1): Obtained by mining yellow Sulfur nodes at Mount Obsidian, and Desiccated Desert. Usually found in dungeons and deserts.
Upon obtaining the resources, use a High-Quality Workbench to make Gunpowder.
