Periapt of Wound Closure - BG3

Periapt of Wound Closure

In Baldur’s Gate 3 the Periapt of Wound Closure is a great accessory which will enchance the survivability of any build. It’s two bonuses are will help keep you in the fight and increase your health recovery. Wound Clousure will automatically stabilise your Downed character at the start of the next turn. Downed is a condition in Baldur’s Gate 3 that occurs when a party member hits 0HP in combat. Instead of being automatically dead, they are ‘Downed’ and have a chance based on dice rolls to recover and stand again. This bonus skips the risk of the dice and enables your character to stand and get a chance to heal.

Consequently, the second bonus, Potent Healing, will be a major help with this. When you recover from the Downed condition, although your character is still in the fight, they will only have 1HP. If they’re going to have a chance, then they have to heal. Whether this comes from spells or potions, Potent Healing will grant you the maximum number of restored health points possible, instead or relying on the chance of the dice.

How to Get Periapt of Wound Closure in Baldur’s Gate 3

In order to get the Periapt of Wound Closure during Act 1 you must go through the Mountain Pass and onto the Rosymorn Monastery Trail, where you can find Lady Esther just a short ways in. The Mountain Pass is to the far northwestern area of the Act 1 Map. You’ll find it to the north of the Goblin Camp or to the west of Waukeen’s Rest. When you first head into this area you’ll run into some Githyanki, which will start a cut scene. This is a great time to acquire the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane, which is one of the best weapons in the game and will last you all the way into Act 3.

Once you are past the Githyanki, you can head to the west and into the Mountain Pass. A short way forward and you should find the Triela Crags waypoint. From there you need to go along the path which goes northeast and runs downhill. At the bottom, take your first right and then right around a short curve. You should then see Esther. When you initiate a conversation with her the first time she’ll tell you about the creche and how she tried to buy a Githyanki egg. You can make your own story choice here about what she tells you.

However, if you want to see her merchant inventory, then you have to at least make the decision to not kill her initially. You can do so later if you really want, but wait to see what she has for sale. When the trade screen opens up you will find the Periapt of Wound Closure for sale for 200 gold.
