Spellcrux Amulet

In Baldur’s Gate 3 the Spellcrux Amulet is a must-have neck accessory for powerful spellcasting builds. It only has one bonus feature, which may not seem like much, but it’s a fantastic boon at high levels. Spell Slot Restoration grants the wearer the ability to replenish an expended spell slot at any level as a Bonus Action once per Long Rest.

What this means is that you can get a free cast of a level 6 spell once you reach Level 11 on a Wizard or Sorcerer. Both classes only get one level six spell slot, which means they can only cast a spell such as Disintegrate or Globe of Invulnerability once per Long Rest. Equipping the Spellcrux Amulet means you can restore a level 6 spell slot and cast the spell a second time.

Additionally, if you really want to stack yet another cast of a level 6 spell on top of that, you can equip your Wizard or Sorcerer with the Markoheshkir quarterstaff!

Here are all the Spellcrux Amulet features in BG3:

  • Armor: Necklace
  • Proficiency Requirement: N/A
  • Weight: 0.05 kg
  • Value: 210
  • Rarity: Very Rare
  • Location: Looted from the Warden in Moonrise Towers Prison, Act 2
  • Bonuses:
    • Spell Slot Restoration: Replenish an expended spell slot of any level as a Bonus Action once per Long Rest.
  • All Classes, Companions, and Races Can Use This Item

How to Get Spellcrux Amulet in Baldur’s Gate 3

To get the Spellcrux Amulet in BG3 you’ll need to enter the Shadow-Cursed Lands in Act 2, find a way inside the Moonrise Towers, and then enter the prisons to face The Warden. You can approach the Moonrise Towers in different ways. Depending on the story choices you’ve so far, and the ones you choose after first entering the Shadow-Cursed Lands. You’ll find the Towers all the way to the southwest of the map. You can attempt a direct approach through the front doors if you’ve followed the drider guide and convinced the guards you’re a fan of the Absolute. However, there is also a door around on the east side of the Tower near the docks which will take you directly into the Prison from outside.

If you went in the front door, then once inside you’ll need to make your way to the west side of the Tower. On the Main Floor, you’ll find some Stairs leading down into the Prison. (If you sided with the Goblins in Act 1 and are hoping to recruit Minthara, the Prison is where you will find her after the scene in the main throne room.) At the bottom of the stairs, go straight ahead into the open space with all of the cells wrapped around a central tower. There will be guards patrolling and The Warden will likely be in this center building. You’ll need to walk part way around the circle before you come to a bridge which takes you over.

You’ll have to kill The Warden in order to loot the Spellcrux Amulet. Do this while she’s in her office without the other guards around and you’ll have an easy time of it. Additionally, if you’re looking to rescue the Tieflings and other prisoners, you can wait in the office for the other guards to walk through and safely pick them off one by one.
