In Baldur’s Gate 3, The Staff of the Ram is a very rare, versatile quarterstaff you can get from Jaheira’s Basement in Act 3. Here is everything you need to know.
The staff of the Ram
In Baldur’s Gate 3, The Staff of the Ram is a very rare Versatile Quarterstaff for any class but will perform best with the Druid class with access to the Shillelagh spell.
Once per turn, you can stun an enemy with Staff of the Ram and knock them down if you use the Shillelagh Spell with your Druid class. This will help you control the battlefield and exclude the most challenging opponent from the fight. As a result, if the enemy is stunned, they can’t take any bonus actions or actions, preventing them from attacking your team. If you use the topple action, you can also send an enemy prone, which gives you another crowd control action to use on the enemies.
You can equip it to your character’s main hand weapon slot in the inventory, providing additional bonuses and buffs. The user needs Simple weapon proficiency or suffers penalties while wearing the weapon.

How to Get the Staff of the Ram in Baldur’s Gate 3
You can find Staff of the Ram in the Opulent Chest, hidden behind a bookcase in Jaheira’s Basement, under Elerrathin’s Home (X:-207 Y: -55) in the Lower City, Act 3. You will need a Harp-Shaped Pin to access the basement.
There are two ways to get a Harp-Shaped Pin in Act 3. However, you may have one already if you found it in a pile of viscera in the Oubliette in Act 2.
How to get a Harp-Shaped Pin without Jaheira at your party
Head to the Graveyard and Mortuary at the north of Elfsong Tavern. Inside, you will find many caskets and coffins. Harp-Shaped Pin is in the Mahogany Cascet next to the window. You must steal it, so ensure no one is around or use one of your companions to speak with the lady working there and hold her attention while you obtain the Harp-Shaped Pin.
How to get a Harp-Shaped Pin with Jaheira at your party
If you have Jaheira at your party, the task is much easier: head straight to Elerrathin’s Home, her home, and ensure the bride is with you at your party. A cutscene will play where her children will welcome her. Head upstairs and speak with Tate, a small boy in one of the upstairs rooms. If you have Jaheira on your team, he will give you a Harp-Shaped Pin.
Find Elerrathin’s Home and Jaheira’s Basement
Elerrathin’s Home (X:-207 Y: -55) and Jaheira’s Basement are on the northwest side of Baldur’s Gate Lower city map. Just next to Baldur’s Gate, the city entrance. It’s a large house surrounded by greenery with a porch where a child practices martial arts on a training dummy.
You can head straight to the office if you already have the Harp-Shaped Pin. When you approach the desk, your party will pass an automatic perception check revealing a Pin slot on the desk. Interact with it and insert the Harp-Shaped Pin to reveal a hidden passage to the basement.
Disarm The Traps
Proceed deeper into the basement, but be aware of the traps. You can disarm them by moving the chest to the left to any other location. It will release the pressure hidden under the chest pressure plate and disable the runes, allowing you a safe pass.
Find Hidden Door and Get Staff of the Ram
Go down to the small cave with a hut. Inside, your party should again pass an automatic perception check that will reveal the loose wooden boards next to the wall and the hidden door behind the tall bookshelf. First, disarm the trap, protecting the key underneath the loose floor wooden boards. Loot the key and open the hidden door behind the bookshelf. Alternatively, you can try to directly unlock the bookcase and successfully pass an 18 DC Sklight of hand skill check.
Once in the hidden room in Jaheira’s Basement, open the opulent chest and get the Staff of the Ram. If you have Jaheira with you and a good relationship with her, she shouldn’t have anything against you taking her gear and looting the area. You will also find Belm’s Sword and Khalid’s Gift Amulet in the room.
