In Baldur’s Gate 3, Thermodynamo Axe is a rare weapon that can apply the Heat status effect, and you can buy it from Dammon in Act 3 in BG3.
Thermodynamo Axe
The Thermodynamo Axe in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a versatile weapon favored by the Fighter or Barbarian classes. This weapon in Baldur’s Gate 3 does two things. First, when you hit someone with it, they get on fire and take 1d4 Fire damage every turn. You can use Heat Convergence to deal extra Fire damage on your next attack or spell by using up the turns they have left on fire, up to a maximum of 7 turns.
Second, the weapon itself has a bonus called Thermodynamo. It means that every time you hit someone with this weapon, you get two turns of Heat. This Heat is what causes the fire damage over time. So, the more you use the weapon, the more turns of Heat you get, allowing for stronger Heat Convergence attacks.
You can equip it to your character’s main hand weapon slot in the inventory, providing additional bonuses and buffs. The user needs Martial weapon proficiency or suffers penalties while wearing the weapon.

How to Get the Thermodynamo Axe in Baldur’s Gate 3
In Baldur’s Gate 3, you get the Thermodynamo Axe from Dammon in Lower City (X: 2 Y: -6) during Act 3 and purchase it from him for 961 Gold. Remember, Dammon must survive the previous acts for him to reach Baldur’s Gate city, and you need to complete the Saving the Grove quest in Act 1.
In Act 3 Dammon opened a new forge in the Forge of the Nine on the north side of Baldur’s Gate City (X: 2 Y: -6). From where you enter the city, through the Basilisk Gate, head to the west. When you reach Sorcerous Sundries, go straight to the north. You will find a building with a forge on the elevated terrace and Dammon, who sells the Thermodynamo Axe, among other fantastic gear items.
You can also catch up with him during events and learn about what happened to him between acts two and three. Gather some gossip and information about other notable NPC characters from the game.
