How to Get Tomatoes in Enshrouded
You can harvest tomatoes right away in Enshrouded, because the plant can be found within the first regional area of Springlands. You can find the best location to farm tomatoes just to the west of the Springlands Ancient Spire. To get there you will need first need to find the Blacksmith so that you can craft the Grappling Hook.
You can often find tomatoes at the rundown Harvest Homestead, and other similar abandoned village locations. It’s a medium sized plant, and the bright red tomato fruits make it easy to spot. Generally, abandoned farms and villages can be a great place for you to pick up ingredients in the early game. You can also find corn, mushrooms and other edible items inside garden plots.
How to Farm Tomatoes in Enshrouded
One of the last survivors you awaken will likely be the Farmer in her vault. Afterwards, you can start the process of cultivating more for yourself. You will need to have an available Seedbed, or craft an additional one which will require:
- 10 Wooden Logs – Simply cut down some trees
- 2 Metal Scraps – Looted from Scavenger Enemies and Camps
- 10 Farm Soil – 7 Dirt and 3 Bonemeal
Next, in order to grow Tomato Seedlings in Enshrouded you will need:
- 1 Water
- 1 Tomato
What is a Tomato, and what is it used for?
In Enshrouded tomatoes are a juicy fruit which can be consumed to provide you with additional Dexterity. Eating the Forest Beet on it’s own will grant you +2 Dexterity for 10 minutes.
If you really want to take your Ranger build to the next level, however, you can craft much better, longer lasting meals with Tomatoes and other ingredients. Consequently, one of the best meals you can create is Stir-Fried Vegetables. You’ll need to have created the Oven for the Farmer in order to make it.
The complete recipe for Stir-Fried Vegetables is:
- 3 Corncob
- 3 Forest Beet
- 3 Tomato
- 3 Bell Pepper
- 1 Spice
