While MLB The Show 25 is coming to PS5, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch, it will not be arriving on PS4 and Xbox One.
MLB The Show 25 launches globally on March 18, 2025, with early access beginning on March 14, 2025. The game features several new enhancements to gameplay, as well as a new difficulty mode, all powered through current technology. The game is releasing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, knowing the technological leap the game is making, it will be skipping out on last-generation consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As stated earlier, there are a ton of new features making their way to MLB The Show 25, ensuring that your gameplay experience is as authentic as it gets. Powered by current-gen technology, the first new feature in the game is Ambush Hitting. This feature simulates the real experience of a hitter, letting you guess which side the pitcher is going to pitch.
The devs have also added three different reaction times for infielders. There are new animations to facilitate and complement these added reaction times, adding to the authenticity. The high-rated players will have a quick start animation, while the not-so-high players will have a slower animation. Furthermore, each player has an indicator at the bottom so you get instant feedback on their motion.
A new jump indicator enables you to make more risky catches, empowered by various catch animations that can be played from multiple directions. This new meter will allow you to rob home runs and change the flow of the game.
If you master these new features, there’s a higher difficulty for you to test yourself. MLB The Show 25 comes with the new G.O.A.T. difficulty. This tweaks up your experience with faster Fastballs, bigger breaks on off-speed pitches, a tighter swing timing window, and a smaller PCI.
