If If you ever want to enjoy having two Strategists at the same time in Marvel Rivals, switch to Cloak & Dagger. Technically speaking, they are just one character because of how the roster functions, but both of them have different abilities. They are such a menace in higher-rank matches that players often ban this hero to make their game easier. However, a player who doesn’t know how to play Cloak & Dagger won’t be that big of an asset to a team. That’s what we are here to change.

How To Play Cloak & Dagger in Marvel Rivals

Cloak & Dagger’s Survivability

Cloak & Dagger share a base health of 250. This small health pool makes them a “squishy” character, meaning they can die pretty easily from Critical Hits (headshots) and consistent damage over time. However, their abilities make their survival a bit easier. Since they are a Strategist and Dagger is primarily a healer, she can cast a Dagger Storm at her feet to continuously self-heal while also switching to Cloak and damaging the enemy in the front.

If Cloak faces some difficulty, he can easily use the Terror Cape ability to blind enemies and vanish into thin air to escape combat. If it is another squishy character attacking him, his primary attack can maintain pressure on the enemy continuously. Either way, the survivability odds of this character are pretty good unless they receive critical hits or get jumped by multiple enemies.

Cloak & Dagger’s Mobility

When it comes to mobility, Cloak & Dagger are nothing special. It’s good because it balances out the character a bit. If you play as them in your next match, you will observe that they have a standard movement speed of 6m/s (meters per second). Even though Cloak can use his Dark Teleportation ability to levitate and become invisible, this won’t give him additional speed.

So, in terms of mobility, Cloak & Dagger only have this Dark Teleportation ability that can save them from falling off the map at times and also contribute to their overall survivability. The mobility is decent but nothing special.

Cloak & Dagger Playstyle and Combos

Cloak & Dagger are pretty versatile Strategists and can play in a variety of team comps while switching back and forth between the front and the backline. Some Strategists have an aggressive healing style, meaning that they contribute to damage as well as healing, while others are primarily better healers. As for this duo, they are good at both, depending on what the player wants!

The only combo that you need to worry about is cycling between your healing abilities as Dagger. Since both healing abilities besides the primary attack have a 12-second cooldown, it is best to space them out a bit. In scenarios where you get jumped, make sure to immediately switch to Cloak, use Terror Cape on the attacker, and immediately switch to healing if your allies beside you are protecting you. Otherwise, keep dealing damage until the enemy is dead or disappear if you are worried you can’t do much against them.

Best Team Composition With Cloak & Dagger in Marvel Rivals

ROLECHARACTERS
VanguardMagneto
DuelistsScarlet Witch, Iron Man/Storm, Namor
StrategistLoki/Rocket Raccoon/Jeff the Land Shark

An aggressive team comp can really help Cloak & Dagger shine bright. Magneto will hold aggro as the solo Vanguard of the team. He can also shield his teammates from incoming damage. And with Scarlet Witch on the team, he will also have his Team-up activated.

Apart from activating the team-up with Magneto, Scarlet Witch will continue maintaining that pressure on the enemy team by flanking them and continuously dealing damage with her attacks. Iron Man/Storm will deal damage from creative locations in the team comp to ensure that the most damage is dealt. The best part about having a flying character along with Scarlet on the team is that Dagger can heal all of them with her “lock-on” healing projectiles without having a perfect aim. Namor, on the other hand, will be the anti-diver in this team comp and help out the healers at the back.

Depending on how you play Cloak & Dagger, you can choose your second Strategist. If C&D is playing at the frontline aggressively, it’s best to have the other Strategist as somebody who can primarily heal better like Rocket or Jeff. However, if C&D is usually at the back of the line, Loki can help contribute to damage at the mid or front line.

Cloak & Dagger Counters in Marvel Rivals

If a lot of characters jump Cloak & Dagger together, they have minimal odds of surviving. Similarly, if you dive the said Strategist when they already have protection from their teammates, you will likely get run over by the enemy team. However, there are a few characters who hard counter them. These are:

  • Hawkeye
  • Magneto
  • Peni Parker
  • Iron Man
  • Iron Fist
  • Hela
  • Scarlet Witch

Hawkeye can one-shot the character right away using a headshot. He can also aim and use his headshot to eliminate C&D while they are using their Ultimate. Although Magneto won’t do much damage, he will be able to completely block Cloak’s attacks with his shield. His ultimate can also one-shot C&D during the short pauses in their Ultimate Ability.

Peni Parker is another character who can kill C&D during their Ultimate if the latter happens to stop among her spider-mines. She will also be able to counter them with her web-snare that recharges every 3 seconds.

Iron Man is usually out of reach from C&D when the latter is trying to attack him. He can just use his AoE primary attack to kill them easily. Iron Fist, on the other hand, can use his barrage of punches to lay waste to the duo.

Hela is a mid-range shooter who can use a couple of headshots to drive C&D away or put them down. Scarlet Witch has the same primary attack as Cloak’s, but she is much deadlier as a DPS character.

Tips and Tricks To Play Cloak & Dagger in Marvel Rivals

The following tips will help you while playing C&D:

  • Cloak’s Dark Teleportation can save your allies against one-shot Ultimates like those of Iron Man, Magneto, Namor, and Scarlet Witch. However, this will only work if your teammates stop attacking.
  • No need to aim directly at the healing target because of your lock-on ability.
  • Try sticking close to your teammates when healing them because it will create a circle with a big radius that will grant bonus healing.
  • The primary healing attack from Dagger bounces off walls and can ricochet off allies but does not work just as well against enemies.
