Minecraft is one of the best games for building stuff, allowing player creativity to flourish with each brick placed. Naturally, as you’re setting out the blueprint of what you wish to build, you will require resources to realize the blueprint. These resources come in various forms, with Concrete being the most prominent.

Concrete is one of the best building blocks in Minecraft and comes in 16 different dyes, allowing you to customize your creations better and add more life to them. It is also a viable alternative to Stone, coming with a hardness greater than that of Stone. If you’re looking to make Concrete and don’t know where to begin, we’re here to help out. In this guide, we shall go over how to make Concrete in Minecraft.

How To Make Concrete

You make concrete in Minecraft, much like you do in real life, by combining Concrete Powder with water. As such, you will need concrete powder if you wish to make Concrete.

Make Concrete Powder

To make Concrete Powder, you will first have to collect a set of ingredients that you can use to craft the powder. You will require the following ingredients:

  • 4x Sand
  • 4x Gravel
  • A Dye (this will determine the color of your Concrete blocks, so pick carefully)

Once you’ve collected these ingredients, place them on the Crafting Table to obtain 8x Concrete Powder. You can now use the Concrete Powder to make Concrete in Minecraft.

Now that you have the Concrete Powder, you simply have to mix it with water to make Concrete. There are a variety of ways you can do so. You can use a water bucket to mix the Concrete Powder with water and obtain Concrete blocks. Use the bucket to put the water at the top of the powder block to get Concrete blocks, which you can then mine with a pickaxe to get Concrete.

Alternatively, you can make your way to the nearest water body in the vicinity. Take the Concrete Powder blocks and place them directly into the water, and they will turn into Concrete blocks. To speed up the process, stack up the blocks on top of each other, with the bottom block submerged in water. Mine the bottommost block using a pickaxe and let the stack fall into the water block after block, mining them all along the way. This is how you make Concrete in Minecraft.
