Bird Helmet is one of the gear pieces in Monster Hunter Wilds that doesn’t have the best stats. However, it’s the look of the gear that matters a lot in RPG games with high customization options. MH Wilds offers a “layered armor” feature to help you transmog the gear to look different while maintaining stats of a better gear piece. But you can’t have the look of the Bird Helmet unless you have unlocked it first.

Obtaining the Bird Helmet in Monster Hunter Wilds

The easiest way of obtaining this headgear is by completing a specific quest. The quest in question is “When Do Quematrice Sing“. This event quest requires players to hunt the standard High Rank version of a Quematrice. If you go after the Tempered version, you will be putting in effort for things that you don’t get rewarded for. So, stick to the regular version of the beast.

One of the best parts about this quest is that Quematrice is pretty easy to defeat. It doesn’t have any fancy attacks and abilities up its sleeves that you need to worry about. The attacks are pretty standard and easy to avoid. Additionally, you don’t have to think a lot about elemental damage because dishing out any damage against it is good so long it is consistent.

After defeating the beast, players will be rewarded with the following items:

  • Advanced Armor Sphere
  • Amstrigian Ticket
  • Monster Keenbone
  • Mystery Orb – Armor
  • Mystery Orb – Sword
  • Quematrice Certificate S
  • Quematrice Crest+
  • Quematrice Hide+
  • Quematrice Igniter+
  • Quematrice Scale+
  • Quematrice Tail
  • Silver Egg
  • Steel Egg
  • Wyvern Gem

After acquiring the Amstrigian Ticket, Quematrice Crest+, and Monster Keenbone, you will be eligible to obtain the Amstrigian/Bird Helmet.

What Will the Amstrigian Helmet Give You in Monster Hunter Wilds?

You can head to a nearby armorsmith where you can use the Amstrigian Ticket to craft the new Bird Helmet. Why we call it a “Bird Helmet” is because a literal bird will sit atop your character’s head when you have it equipped. If you don’t wish to “transmog” it, the helmet’s original stats go as follows:

  • 36 Damage
  • -2 Fire Res
  • 2 Water Res
  • 1 Thunder Res
  • -2 Ice Res
  • 3 Dragon Res
  • Allows the effect of certain items to affect nearby allies
  • Increases evade distance
  • Increases affinity temporarily when sliding
