Red Topaz is one of the gemstones, alongside Opal, Sapphire, and Jade. With the dragons awakened in the Ashenfall, acquiring gemstones is essential to fight them. How To Obtain Red Topaz in Runescape Dragonwilds
Mining Silver Ore deposits rarely rewards Red Topaz as a secondary drop. However, you should have the Gem Prospector, a special perk that unlocks at Mining Level 16, to gather Red Topaz. Silver Ore is available exclusively in Bloodblight Swamp, a late-game region located southeast of Fractured Plains. This also means that you will only be able to obtain Red Topaz in the later part of your game.
Bloodblight Swamp is an extremely dangerous zone filled with powerful creatures lurking around every corner. Moreover, the region is completely covered with toxic poison clouds, making it much more challenging to traverse the area. Always carry a few Weak Antipoison Potions and Bittercap Mushrooms to resist poison damage and increase your chances of survival in the area.
Once you locate a Silver Ore node, take out your Bronze Pickaxe and swing it. If you are lucky, you will receive Red Topaz. Instead of using your pickaxe, you can also use the Rocksplosion spell on ores, which can shatter the rock outcrop and drop the resources instantly. It significantly increases your chances of acquiring the rare red-coloured gem while also reducing the time.
Moreover, the Silver Ore nodes are always located right next to Gold Ore nodes as an added bonus. Mining the Gold Ore nodes drops Sapphire, another valuable gemstone. Despite being extremely hazardous, Bloodblight Swamp provides an opportunity to collect two gemstones in a single run—making it worth the risk.
