The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Ultrahand Ability and Crafting

Ultrahand Ability

Welcome to our Tears of the Kingdom – Ultrahand Ability and Crafting guide!

One of the major new abilities Link will possess in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is called Ultrahand. It was first introduced to fans in a Nintendo Gamplay Demonstration video which shows some examples of Link building a small raft in order to get across a river.

We speculate that the ability itself will be something that Link will gain relatively early on in the story. Trailers have given us glimpses of cut scenes were it appears that Link’s right arm becomes infected or cursed with some sort of malice. It is this same hand/arm that that later becomes able to work the Ultrahand ability. Whether this is possible because of the infection/curse or due to the power of an equipped item (or possibly some combination of both) is currently unknown.

However, what’s really important is not so much the how it’s acquired (which will likely happen automatically by following the story) but what you can do with it. So far, what trailers and gameplay videos have shown is Link using Ultrahand to piece together objects to create primarily vehicles.

Ultrahand cost

Nintendo has put in some limits on the Ultrahand ability, so that it can’t just be used all the time on a whim. While all of the specifics aren’t yet known, it has been revealed that an item called the ‘Zonai Charge’ will be needed in order

Zonai Charges are materials dropped by defeated Soldier Construct monsters. These Charges can be used to power Energy Cells, and are also used as currency in the many gacha-like Zonai stations found around the Sky Islands. These stations are what will give you the artifacts/pieces you’ll need to construct vehicles with Ultrahand.

Keep in mind that what you get from the Zonai stations will be random. Such a mechanic design is probably meant to encourage experimentation, but might also cause some frustration if you’re looking for a specific piece. Hopefully the drop rate of the Zonai Charges will be generous to help compensate.

Ultrahand Vehicle Crafting

There are sure to be a thousand different ways to craft a thousand different vehicles Link could use to get across the vast stretches of Hyrule. Whether that means a way of getting around on the surface or crossing the empty sky between islands in the atmosphere above, players will each have their own unique ways of crafting.

However, as in any game there will always be better, or more efficient ways that make reaching your objective easier. Generally, it would be almost impossible to catalog all the possible combinations, but we’re here to record the more effective blueprints in our Tears of the Kingdom – Ultrahand Ability and Crafting guide!

The vehicles Link creates don’t just have to be a way to get from point A to point B. With some extra additions, you can create a powerful weapon for attacking groups of enemies!
