Substance Transformation in Throne and Liberty is a special feature that allows you to change your items into useful rewards. Transform your unwanted items for a better price. And focus on the equipment system. There are five tiers that each cost a specific amount of mats to feed for items that you may not want, can’t sell, have no use for, or would just like to roll for a chance of other items in the game.
Get to Substance Transformation through the menu or on PC Escape under the item list see Substance Transformation. Obtain brand new items from the recycled unwanted gear through the Substance Transformation in Throne and Liberty. The Substance Transformation System also works for the Runes items you equip on your Weapons and Accessories to become powerful along with the Equipment in Throne and Liberty.
What is Substance Transformation in Throne and Liberty
The substance Transformation system is a way to gamble off loot that you don’t need into something new. There are 20 slots, and every piece of gear you don’t need to put in will get different points. For example, if you’re putting a weapon in there then you get 2K points. Putting an Armor piece will grant you 1K and putting a lower crate gets low points. Your goal is to use the 20 spaces efficiently to get rid of bad gear this way and make more space in your very limited inventory.
Press the ESC key to access the Substance Transformation in Throne and Liberty. Clicking on the Substance Transformation Tab will pop up the system’s page from where you can select the unwanted items from your inventory to transform them for a better cause. The items that you receive from the Substance Transformation System are random. There are a couple of things that you can control to get target focus on what you’ll roll for. You can control the following factors for a better reward.
- The tier of Conversion.
- Equipment and Runes selection
- Weapon, Armor, Accessory, or other items rolled with more Sollant
If your inventory is filled with unwanted items that you can’t sell at an Auction House or can even properly use for a better reward then this is the best way to recycle them. You can obtain the crucial Gear using the Substance Transformation system which is hard to get in Throne and Liberty.
How Substance Transformation Works in Throne and Liberty
From the Substance Transformation page, select the unnecessary items that can’t be sold for Lucent or used for a better result from your inventory. Each time you place the item from the inventory to the middle of the screen, the Conversion Tier will enhance. The tiers in Throne and Liberty offer a better opportunity to obtain a high-quality item. Next to the Expected Tier Reward, a percentage icon is visible through which you can check the reward that you may gain.
The better potential rewards are based on the higher Conversion Tier but will also cost you a lot of Sollant to acquire the better rewards. Repeat the process multiple times to get a better reward until you have enough unwanted items and a huge amount of Sollant.
Once you’re able to put 10,000 points in the Substance Transformation then you’ll roll and you’ll get four rewards for doing so. The first reward will be determined based on the group, so you’ll roll which group will be chosen and then from the group that was chosen, it will then roll those items randomly. You also have a 100% guarantee for trade resonance Stone fragments and those fragments are the main reason why you actually want to use Substance Transformation System.
This feature is not for catching the specific weapon when you’re targeting but this system is for the Trait Resonance Stone feature. If you’ll be lucky then you may get the weapon or the item you’re targeting or you don’t. You don’t need to focus and gamble for the item but you’ve to gamble for the trade.
Conversion Tiers
Throne and Liberty offers the 5 Conversion Tiers. The Conversion Tiers dictate the quality of the re-roll. The Conversion Tiers also control the percentages for different unwanted items to roll. The larger the number of items and the higher the amount of Sollant required for the higher tier (Tier 5). The amount of conversion points the item is worth is based on the following.
- Gear rarity
- Gear Tier
- Amount of traits
- Weapons, armor, or accessories provide more points
Click on the percentage icon next to the “Expected Tier Reward” to check the rewards for each Tier. The bonus rewards that you obtain from the process are:
- Trait Resonance Stone Fragments
- Trait Resonance Stone
Trait Resonance Stone
The Trait Resonance Stone Fragments are crucial for your late-game progression in Throne and Liberty as they’re used for crafting into Trait Resonance Stones. Trait Resonance Stone Fragments is a piece of moonstone utilized for controlling traits. You can also craft the Trait Resonance Stone from it. The Trait Resonance Stone is crafted by using the following ingredients.
- Trait Resonance Stone Fragment x5
- Precious Rubrix Ore x2
- Precious Emeret Ore x2
- Precious Stalon Ore x2

Sacrifice Materials
Sacrifice materials that value 2501 points to raise a Tier. Use any item as a sacrifice but players can opt for blue and purple gear because they are easy to get and are common in the game. Below you can see the worth of each gear piece.

Select the loot table from which you want to get a reward in the Substance Transformation System. The Armor, Weapon, and Accessory loot table is a source of obtaining a reward. If you’re looking for a specific item then selecting all loot tables is not the best option. You can also get BiS accessories that are hard to achieve by selecting the accessory loot table. The BiS accessories include the following.
- Transcendent Magic Ring
- Tycan’s Bloodlust Belt
Transcendent Magic Ring used for Embodiment of Ruthless Power and Lithograph Book and can be acquired from the Precious Blessing Pouch: Spineflower. Tycan’s Bloodlust Belt provides Magic Defense 180 and is obtained from the following chests.
- Precious Blessing Pouch: Grudge
- Precious Blessing Pouch: Tyrant
- Precious Equipment Chest: Tyrant
Rune Conversion
The same things can also be done to the Runes as you did for equipment in the game. Click on the Rune Tab from the Substance Transformation screen. There is a total of six Conversion Tiers for runes available to you in the game. The Rune Conversion is pretty simple with little portion for selection. Push the Conversion Tier up by allocating the unwanted runes and after that spin the wheel to acquire new useful runes. There are chances that you’ll most probably obtain the following items.
- Rune Hammers
- Rare Rune Chance Chest
- Rune Fragments
Rune Hammer is a Rune Socket opener in Throne and Liberty that is utilized for unlocking a socket and changing the type of an unlocked socket. You can get Rare Rune from the Rune Chance Chest. Substance Transformation Rewards
The Substance Transformation System in Throne and Liberty offers a wide variety of rewards that you can gain. Choosing the correct tab under the items will let you gain the Weapon, Armor, or Accessory in the game. Achieving the random equipment based on the Conversion Tier is possible. However, you will also gain the other materials, like Trait Resonance Stone Fragments and crafting materials with your main equipment reward. Trait Resonance Stone Fragments are good for controlling your Traits and crafting Resonance Stones for various purposes.
There’s a maximum of 20 items that you can feed into the Substance Transformation system, so you can’t just feed it endlessly. You’ve to choose a mix of Epic grade and rare grade items. The most you got with a full rare feed is a conversion tier 3. Each tier depending on the level will determine the roll chance and the rewards and you can verify by clicking on the % icon.
You can see the odds when you click the expected tier reward item. At tier four the Cost rises exponentially. At tier four, you don’t need to worry about rare-grade items such as weapons, Armor, or accessories anymore. On each re-roll in Substance Transformation System, you will get an Epic Grade. Also, this is a way to get the new trait resonance Stone Fragments that you can use to craft and get stones for extra traits.
