Dark and Darker has a total of ten classes that you can choose from. Each class has its pros and cons, which highly decide how viable it is in combat. In Dark and Darker, normal enemies are quite easy, so the main threat you will mostly face is other players. When it comes to dealing with other players, some classes perform much better than the rest. Additionally, classes can also be affected by balance changes.

To help you choose the best class in Season 6, here are the top four classes in Dark and Darker.

4) Bard

Bard is without doubt the best support class in the entirety of Dark and Darker. Most of its spells are tailored to make your and your team’s life much easier during and out of combat. Bards might not be the best when it comes to solo playthroughs, but they become indispensable in team fights.

When playing as a Bard, you have to complete small, quick-time events that determine how strong your spells are. Mastering this minigame is quite important, as you have to play it often during battles. We recommend using the Chaotic Discord spell often, as it can turn enemies into allies, but only natural-spawned mobs.

ProsCons
Great crowd controlLow damage bonus
Good swordsmanLoud
Play powerful buffsWeak without buffs
Highest potential Luck stat

3) Rogue

In Dark and Darker, Rogues are excellent assassins, thieves, and infiltrators. The Rogue class has one of the lowest healths compared to most other melee classes. However, the upsides far outweigh this lack of health and defence. Rogues can move at the highest speed in the entire game without even making a single sound. Additionally, they also have higher attack speed and interaction speed.

We recommend using the Cut Throat skill, as it silences the target you hit for 2 seconds. A silenced enemy cannot use any of their skills or spells, which means you can attack them as much as you want in those 2 seconds. You can also use the Weakpoint Attack skill, which reduces the target’s armor rating by 40%. The armor reduction becomes quite handy against fighters and barbarians.

ProsCons
High movement speedLow Health
Quick attack speedLow magic resistance
Quickly interact with objectsLimited ranged options
Can pick locks without a lock pick
Can detect and disable traps
Moves more silently

2) Barbarian

Barbarians are fierce berserkers who rely on rage and bloodthirst to finish their enemies. As a Barbarian, you can wield two-handed weapons to gain a buff that deals extra damage to your opponents. Moreover, you have the highest amount of health among all other classes, along with innate magical resistance. You are not just a simple tank, but one that can deal severe damage as well.

If you are going to play solo most of the time, Barbarian is one of the best classes for you without any doubt. The Blood Exchange skill is one of the best for you, as you can regain health by hitting enemies physically while the skill is active.

ProsCons
Extreme HealthSlow base movement speed
Damage bonus with 2 handed weaponsLeast ranged options in the game
Innate magic resistanceLow interaction speed
Fast Magical Interaction speed
Strong buff and debuff skills

1) Ranger

Whether you are playing solo or in a team, the Ranger is one of the best classes that you can choose. A Ranger mainly uses a bow to deal damage with their arrows. As a Ranger, you can also wield small swords or daggers to protect yourself. However, the main thing that makes the Ranger class shine is their ability to place traps.

A trap is a small mechanism that immobilizes players when they step on it. While in a trap, they cannot do anything for a while, which makes them the perfect sitting targets. We recommend using the Multishot skill mostly, as using it shoots five arrows in front of you in a spread, kind of like a shotgun. If you are close enough to enemies, all five arrows can deal lethal damage to them.

ProsCons
Quick with the bowCannot equip most melee weapons
Set trapsLow damage with melee weapons
Quickly start a campfire
Track enemy players

These are the top four classes you can play in Season 6 of Dark and Darker.
