Abilities
The best abilities for the Prismatic Hunter PVE Build are Threaded Spike, Grapple Grenade, and Golden Gun: Marksman Super. The Threaded Spike is a melee that can bounce between multiple combatants severing any that were hit. Also, Grapple Grenade provides a movement tool and a gap close with a powerful powered melee that we can activate near targets. Lastly, the Golden Gun: Marksman Super gives us the highest single-target damage source in our kit and provides some much-needed burst damage to high-health targets.
Golden Gun: Marksman – This super summons a flaming hand cannon with three shots and deal escalating damage each successive hit
Gambler’s Dodge – Activating this dodge while in close proximity to enemies will give you your melee ability back
Triple Jump – The most common jump for a PVE hunter due to its easy of use and strong control. It also allows hunters to generally go higher and further with their jumps.
Grapple – Grenade that allows us to fly at enemies and punch them, dealing AOE damage and unraveling them.
Threaded Spike – Melee that can bounce to multiple enemies, dealing damage to each one and severing them.
The most important abilities we use in this build are our Grapple Grenade and Threaded Spike. These, when paired with our aspect, will give us constant grenades and invisibility. Also, they are fantastic for taking our trash enemies by dealing damage to multiple enemies from each source or debuffing them to reduce their damage. Lastly, our Marksman super provides us with needed single target burst damage to ensure our kit is well-rounded.
Aspects
The best aspects to use with our Prismatic Hunter PVE Build are Gunpowder Gamble and Stylist Executioner. Gunpowder Gamble provides us with a second grenade that deals massive area-of-effect damage by getting ability, debuffed enemies, or solar kills. Also, Stylish Executioner makes us invisible upon killing a subclass debuffed target.
Gunpowder Gamble – Defeating targets with solar damage build up charges for a solar grenade
Stylish Executioner – Killing a subclass debuffed target grants invisibility
Gunpowder Gamble is essential with this build since it provides a solar debuff and area-of-effect damage grenade for getting kills. Lastly, Stylish Executioner provides us with a survivability buff by making us invisible after killing an enemy affected by a subclass debuff.
Fragments
The best fragments for our Prismatic Hunter PVE Build are the Facet of Dawn, the Facet of Purpose, the Facet of Protection, the Facet of Balance, and the Facet of Courage. Since these provide us with damage resistance, damage boost, and ability energy.
Facet of Dawn : Powered melee hits grant radiant
Facet of Purpose : Picking up an orb of power provides a survivability subclass buff depending upon super
Facet of Protection : When surrounded by enemies we gain damage resistance
Facet of Balance : Rapid light based kills grant melee energy, rapid dark based kill grant grenade energy
Facet of Courage : Buffs light based abilities to targets affected by dakrness debuffs
Facet of Dawn and Facet of Balance are the most important fragments for our build since they provide a constant damage buff and allow us to continue our gameplay loop. Facet of Purpose and Facet of Protection provide us with some additional survivability giving us damage resistance while we are near enemies and providing us restoration with our equipped super. Lastly, Facet of Courage buffs our super giving it additional damage.
Weapons
The best weapons for our Prismatic Hunter PVE Build are The Mountaintop, Sunshot, and Marsilion-C. Sunshot is the star of the show allowing us to deal clear enemies as well as generate our grenades. Also, The Mountaintop provides us with a great burst damage weapon that is capable of dealing massive damage with a single shot. Lastly, Marisilion-C is one of the strongest heavy solar grenade launchers for PVE in the game due to its damage and perks.
Here’s a list of the best weapon loadouts for our Prismatic Hunter PVE Build:
- Kinetic: Mountaintop, Kinetic Micro-Missile Frame Grenade Launcher
- Energy: Sunshot, Exotic Solar Hand Cannon
- Heavy: Marsilion-C, Rapid-Fire Frame Solar Grenade Launcher
Alternatively, you can run any legendary special weapon in the kinetic slot. However, you should prioritize a weapon that has great burst damage or precision damage. Most of the weapons can be swapped out for preference but should have similar perks or utility to keep up the aspects and fragments that the build is centered around.
Exotic Armor
The best exotic armor for the Prismatic Hunter PVE build is the new exotic hunter class item, Relativism. These new exotic class items can drop with two pre-existing exotic perks on one item. This allows unrivaled combinations and adjustments within Destiny 2 build crafting. The two perks we want with this build are the Spirit of Caliban and the Spirit of Cyrtarachne. These provide us with an area of effect explosion on a powered melee kill and woven mail damage resistance when using a grenade. The most important perk to focus on is the Spirit of Caliban since we have two powered melees that both deal area damage.
Armor Stats
The best stats to focus on in our Prismatic Hunter PVE Build are Mobility, Resilience, and Discipline. Since these provide us with survivability, reduce our class ability cooldown, and reduce our grenade cooldown.
- Mobility: 80
- Resilience: 100
- Recovery: 20
- Disciple: 100
- Intellect: 50
- Strength: 10

The best armor mods for our Prismatic PVE Build are Ashes to Assets, Solar Weapon Surge, and Time Dilation. Since these build into our weapon damage and super regeneration.

Gameplay Tips
This Prismatic Hunter PVE Build utilizes our regular gameplay loop of melees, grenades, and super to keep enemies at bay. However, one of the massive changes with Prismatic is known as Transcendence. Transcendence is a sudo-super mode of the subclass that is triggered upon filling up a dark and light bar located under your super. Once these are both filled, you can enter Transcendence which gives us boosted melee and grenade recharge rates, boosted weapon damage, and extra resistances. Also, we gain access to a transcendence-specific grenade for hunters called the Hailfire Spike. This is a grenade charged with both solar and stasis energy and it sticks to targets or surfaces and will erupt into a slowing storm. Afterwards, the device ignites and it creates a scorching cyclone. Balancing this light and darkness bar and utilizing Transcendence to its height damage will provide the build with unparalleled power.
Our melee and our grenade are quite powerful and fantastic trash mob controllers. Also, our super provides the highest single target burst damage super available for prismatic hunters. This makes it capable of dealing massive single-target boss damage while clearing out any trash enemies that are in the vicinity. All combined this Prismatic Hunter PVE Build has everything needed to complete any of Destiny 2’s various activities.
