The First Descendant: Best Bunny Build Guide

Discover the Best Bunny Build Guide for The First Descendant and how to create a powerful character with skills, modules, and weapons.

The First Descendant Best Bunny Build Guide

This guide has been updated for Season 1, Hotfix 1.1.0 of the First Descendant.

Bunny Build Guide for The First Descendant

In the First Descendant, Bunny is the central character thanks to her blinding speed, area damage, and fun factor. What makes Bunny unique is massive area damage (AOE) based on how fast she moves. With a Bunny build, your goal is to constantly move and build up unique resource electricity. Bunny also triggers status effects electrocute and plays in close range for optimal damage.

While Bunny has the best overall kit for most content in the First Descendant, she can be squishy (lower Survivability). Players will have to use fast movement, staffing, and mods to compensate for being in close range constantly. Moreover, Bunny can struggle in Void Intercpet battles (bosses) where 15-meter range isn’t recommended. However, we recommend every player unlock Bunny because she’s so fast and breezes through leveling content or grinding.

This Bunny Build guide will walk you through a Non-Ultimate Bunny Build. The two versions are similar, but the catalyst sockets and base stats are increased in Ultimate Bunny. Therefore, we will optimize the base Bunny build for “mobbing” or clearing content quickly vs. boss encounters. Check out Ultimate Bunny for a more Void Intercept focus boss killer.

Bunny’s Exclusive Equipment

Bunny Exclusive Equipment - Biopower Conversion Device Suit

Bunny’s exclusive equipment is her Biopower Conversion Device, which is her cosmetic special suit that is automatically given to the player upon acquisition of the Descendant. You can access it by clicking details in the Descendant menu and customizing the appearance of her suit. Below are the details on Bunny’s Exclusive Equipment:

“Simply known as a ‘Bio-Cell,’ this special suit is a Biopower Conversion Device. It serves as an electric storage device that helps Bunny convert and store electromagnetic force generated by her movements into actual electricity. Thanks to the Bio-Cell, Bunny can store electricity generated within her body and attack enemies by releasing electromagnetic force during combat when necessary.

However, Albion was unable to create a perfect electric transition device with their current technology because the electricity generated by Bunny’s Arche and physical activities was very different from the usual current and pattern. As a consequence, the charged electricity decreases immediately if Bunny doesn’t move. That’s also the reason why this suit is called a Biopower Conversion Device rather than a typical battery.”

Best Skill for Bunny

Best Skill for Bunny - The First Descendant

Lighting Emission is Bunny’s best skill because it provides AOE damage to clear mobs and can kill bosses if combined with the Transcendent Mod High-Voltage. The skill emits lighting in a 9-meter radius based on moving 7 meters. Moreover, the skill can trigger the electrocution status effect damage, dealing even more damage over time to targets.

What makes lighting emission useful is that it’s based on movement. Therefore, you can combine it with Speed of Light or Long Distance Grappling hook to trigger the damage more frequently. With proper mods, this skill can destroy bosses while strafing in a semi-circle or clear out waves of enemies. The Transcendent Mod High-Voltage reduces the number of enemies but radically increases the damage. Moreover, the skill is Singular and can be boosted further with Focus on Singular and Focus on Electric mods. Once both are maxed out, this will be your priority skill for mobbing and bossing.

Look for a Tingling Singularity Reactor with a Submachine Gun or Thunder Cage mount to deal with the most damage caused by lighting emission.

Below are all the skills for Bunny’s character:

  • Thrill Bomb – Summons an Electro Orb to attack nearby enemies and inflict them with Electrocute effect.
  • Speed of Light – Increases sprint speed and the amount of Electricity obtained.
  • Lightning Emission – Moving around deals damage to nearby enemies and inflicts them with Electrocute effect.
  • Maximum Power – Shoots out electricity forward to inflict damage. Damage increases in proportion to skill duration.
  • Rabbit Foot (Passive) – Charges electricity by moving around. Landing on the ground after double jump inflicts damage to nearby enemies.

Thrill Bomb

Thrill Bomb - Bunny Skill The First Descendant

Thrill Bomb Skill Features in The First Descendant:

  • Summons an Electro Orb to attack nearby enemies and inflict them with Electrocute effect.
  • Electric – Fusion
  • Creates a Thrill Bomb to deal damage to the nearest enemy in range. This damage increases proportionally to the amount of owned Electricity.
  • Inflicts Electrocution on enemies that are hit. Electrocution deals continuous damage at fixed intervals.
  • Cooldown: 10.0 seconds
  • Electricity Cost: 100.0
  • Damage: Skill Power x 130.3%
  • Per 10% Electricity Retained: Skill Power x +15%
  • Radius: 7 Meters
  • Max Expandable Range: 300%
  • Max Hits: 6 Enemies
  • Continuous Damage: Skill Power x 46.6%
  • Continuous Damage Interval: 1.0 second
  • Duration: 3 seconds

How to use Thrill Bomb: A proportional bonus skill that creates a big bomb in a roughly 7-meter radius. You can increase the damage by using a skill power modifier and electricity. The strength of the Thrill Bomb is it can apply an electrocution status effect, giving constant damage pulses. Thrill Bomb has a low cooldown and triggers electrocution damage, so this should be your primary ability. Moreover, the skill can hit six enemies at a time, so it can be applied to the maximum number of enemies in the area.

Speed of Light

speed of light - Bunny Skill The First Descendant

Speed of Light Skill Features in The First Descendant:

  • Description: Increases sprint speed and the amount of Electricity obtained. We recommend using this as often as possible to maximize the amount of Electricity you gain.
  • Electric – Singular
  • Always moves by Sprinting and increases Sprint Speed.
  • Gains Speed of Light.
  • Speed of Light additionally gains Electricity while moving.
  • Cooldown: 2 seconds
  • MP Cost: 12
  • Continuous MP Cost Interval: Every Cycle
  • Continuous MP Cost: Max 16 in 1 second
  • Sprint Speed Increase: 50%
  • Acquisition Cycle: per 1 meter
  • Acquire: Max Electricity x 0.6%

How to use Speed of Light: You want to use Speed of Light just after a Thrill Bomb or Bunny hop explosion to quickly build up electricity via increased sprint speed. This ability can also be used defensively when you need to peel out of combat but still generate electricity. Moreover, Bunny’s passive collection of energy resources builds up to power your other skills like Thrill Bomb, Lightning Emission, and Maximum power. Therefore, use this ability to rush around and build up energy to maximize the damage from your skills.

Lightning Emission

Lightning Emission - Bunny Skill The First Descendant

Lightning Emission Skill Features in The First Descendant:

  • Description: Moving around deals damage to nearby enemies and inflicts them with Electrocute effect.
  • Electric – Singular
  • Activates Lightning Emission for a certain period of time.
  • Deals damage to nearby enemies whenever moving a certain distance. This damage increases proportionally to the amount of Electricity owned.
  • Inflicts Electrocution on enemies that are hit. Electrocution deals continuous damage at fixed intervals.
  • Cooldown: 30 seconds
  • Electricity Cost: 266
  • Move Distance: Emits every 6.0 meter moved
  • Damage: skill power x 167.4%
  • Per 10% of Electricity Retained: skill power x +15%
  • Effect Range: 7 Meter Radius
  • Max Expandable Range: 300%
  • Duration: 20 seconds
  • Continuous Damage: skill power x 59.8%
  • Continuous Damage Interval: 1 second
  • Duration: 3 second

How to use Lightning Emission: This skill automatically does the Electrocute status effect, which is perfect in large groups of mobs when they want to pulse with damage. With reduced cooldowns, you can combo Lighting Emission, then Speed of Light, gaining electricity for a Thrill Bomb, and then back all over again. Moreover, the damage is increased proportional to your Electricity, and you want to combo this with Speed of Light to move faster, hit more enemies, and gather more electricity. With a massive cooldown, you want to use sparingly until you gain mods to reduce the time it takes between skill usage.

Maximum Power

Maximum Power - Bunny Skill The First Descendant

Maximum Power Skill Features in The First Descendant:

  • Description: Shoots out electricity forward to inflict damage. Damage increases in proportion to skill duration.
  • Electric – Fusion
  • Discharges electricity forward.
  • Deals damage to enemies that come into contact with the electricity, with the damage increasing gradually based on the discharge time.
  • Ends when electricity runs out.
  • Cooldown: 38 seconds
  • Cost Interval: Every cycle
  • Continuous Electricity Cost: max 160 in 1 second
  • Level 2: Damage Increase Time: Maintain for 0.5 seconds
  • Level 3: Damage Increase Time: Maintain for 0.5 seconds
  • Level 1 Damage: Skill Power x 505.7%
  • Level 2 Damage: Lv. 1 Damage x 20.0% Amplification
  • Level 3 Damage: Lv. 1 Damage x 50.0% Amplification

How to use Maximum Power: This can be used as a single target nuke beam channel. Therefore, make sure you have a lot of charge and melt a single target. Since the skill is a single target, it’s preferred for boss fights. You want to keep your charge at full before channeling damage. Moreover, ensure you are in safe potions before sitting in a channel fully exposed to incoming damage.

Rabbit Foot (Passive)

Rabbit Foot Skill Features in The First Descendant:

  • Description: Charges electricity by moving around. Landing on the ground after a double jump inflicts damage to nearby enemies.
  • Electric – Fusion
  • Acquires Electricity proportional to the distance moved. When movement stops, the accumulated Electricity will gradually be consumed.
  • Deals damage to nearby enemies upon landing after a Double Jump.
  • Acquisition Cycle: per 1 meter
  • Acquire: Max Electricity x 0.2%
  • Cost Interval: Every cycle
  • Cost Amount: Max Electricity in 1 second x 15.0%
  • Damage: Skill Power x 128.8%
  • Damage Range: Radius 4.0 meters
  • Max Expandable Range: 300.0%

How to use Rabbit Foot: Your goal is constantly moving to fill up and dump your electricity when needing area-based kills. Remember that the build-up is proportional to distanced move, so you want to chain this with Speed of Light active ability, increasing your speed when filling up for a bunny hop bomb. The overall passive rewards you for constant movement and distance moved. This is why Bunny must constantly sprint, even if it’s in a circle.

How to play Bunny in The First Descendant

The First Descendant Bunny Character

Bunny darts around the battlefield, collecting energy and releasing it for massive damage. With Bunny, staying in constant motion is key to building electricity, which can be unleashed with your Maximum Power Ultimate. The damage increases with the duration of the skill, so keep moving, shooting, and blasting enemies into oblivion!

Movement and Speed: Bunny’s passive ability encourages movement, rewarding you with electric charges as you traverse the battlefield. This electricity is used with Thrill Bomb, which deals damage based on the amount of electricity accumulated. To maximize damage, keep moving, tagging enemies, and dropping Thrill Bombs. Bunny should always be moving forward or strafing to continuously build electrical charge.

Damage: Once your electrical charge is full, you can jump and land an electrifying blow, creating a shockwave that damages enemies. Additionally, you can release pulses of electricity with Lightning Emission. The more enemies you tag, the greater the damage, even against single targets. Keep strafing to build up and disperse electricity.

Weapons: Look for weapons with close range and high fire rates, like the Thunder Cage Submachine gun. Weapons with electrical charge or electrocution status effect bonuses will enhance your overall damage and power. Bunny isn’t suited for aiming down sights, so choose weapons with high accuracy at close range.

Defenses and Survival Tips: For Bunny, offense often serves as the best defense, as her high damage output can neutralize threats quickly. Practice moving from cover to cover to keep building electricity and avoid damage. With Bunny’s overwhelming damage potential, enemies often won’t have a chance to hit you.

Next, let’s show you how to unlock the Best Bunny Build in our guide with the First Descendant.

Bunny’s Story in the First Descendant

In Albion, there were as many orphans as there were casualties of war. But Bunny, even as an adult, harbored an unresolved question:

“My parents weren’t even soldiers… so why did they abandon me?”

Her parents, who only occasionally showed their faces and disappeared after her sixth birthday, left Bunny waiting and waiting. The never-ending war did not provide the answers she sought. Eventually, Bunny came to her own conclusion:

“It’s clear my parents ran away. Grandma and I were left behind.”

Left alone with her grandmother, Bunny seemed to channel her inner turmoil into causing major incidents. Notably swift on her feet, she had dodged the police multiple times, earning the moniker of Albion’s Greatest Troublemaker. She even believed she was out of the soldiers’ reach. Bunny had stolen soldiers’ weapons and sold them on the black market, using the proceeds to dutifully support her grandmother amidst the darkness.

At that time, Bunny’s life goal was to secure a room in Albion’s finest retirement district to ensure a comfortable dusk for her grandmother. Bunny, carrying on the mission of her absent parents, needed a lot of money, but nothing was too challenging for this quick-witted Rabbit. As long as she could steal and run, no one could catch her. Even on the day she stole a bunch of expensive military grenades, she had no worries…except that she had fled to a fuel depot with a faulty circuit breaker.

Bunny’s Story Continued

The news of Bunny’s tussle with the police and rescue team, as they tried to prevent a major disaster, and Bunny’s determination not to get caught, reached her grandmother. Her grandmother urged Bunny to stop causing trouble and to surrender peacefully, but fate has a way of creating coincidental events in such situations. The military electronic grenade stolen from the armory was malfunctioning due to electric leakage and was about to explode. As the timer neared zero, Bunny thought of her grandmother outside the silo, realizing she was in danger. Her grandmother was the only one who had looked after her, the abandoned one, and was her only remaining family. Bunny’s immature yet genuine desire to live with her grandmother, even if it meant stealing, sparked a miracle as the timer hit zero.

Time seemed to slow down, and a familiar tingling sensation enveloped Bunny’s entire body. Her desperate wish to stop the bomb awakened a dormant power within her. A powerful electrical force burst forth from Bunny, filling the silo. A powerful shock swept through the silo, but fortunately, all surrounding systems halted, preventing the grenade from causing a catastrophe. Her grandmother was slightly startled but unharmed, which was a tremendous relief.

Bunny’s Story Conclusion

As if paying for the major accident, Bunny was paralyzed due to the overuse her Arche abilities. Unable to move, Bunny was hospitalized for a long time. Once Bunny’s Arche factor was confirmed, Headquarters offered her a chance to become a Descendant and serve, in exchange for overlooking her past misdemeanors, and Bunny readily agreed. After all, they promised not to hold her past accidents against her and assured her of a regular salary. How could this not be a stroke of luck? Bunny was actually pleased. By working hard and earning money, she could enjoy a delicious dinner with her grandmother.

And maybe… she might even find out whether her parents were alive or dead.
