How to get the Cold Cohesion Transcendent Module in The First Descendant

Discover how to get Valby’s Transcendent Module Cold Cohesion in the First Descendant, which changes the function of the Plop Plop skill.

How to get the Cold Cohesion Transcendent Module in The First Descendant

In the First Descendant, Modules are how your character increases damage, survivability, weapon stats, and skills. Modules can be applied to your Descendants and weapons. However, Transcendent modules are for Descendants only and alter specific abilities to gain new effects or change them entirely. Transcendent modules are also expensive regarding module capacity, but they can lower the cost by enhancing the mod.

Hotifx 1.0.5 introduced Ultimate Valby and new modules, specifically Cold Cohesion for Ultimate Valby only. This module changes the skill Plop Plop to Hydro Pressure Bomb, removing the stun but adding more significant damage in an area. Cold Cohesion is helpful because it changes Valby’s second ability to a more useful AOE damage skill rather than crowd control. While stuns and crowd control can be helpful early on in The First Descendant, they become nearly useless at the end of the game and in boss fights. This guide explains how to get the Cold Cohesion Transcendent module for Ultimate Valby and how to use it on your build in the First Descendant.

How to get the Cold Cohesion Transcendent Module – The First Descendant

How to get the Cold Cohesion Transcendent Module - The First Descendant

Complete the Void Intercept Battle Devourer on Hard Mode to get the Cold Cohesion Transcendant Module for Ultimate Valby. You will have a percentage chance to obtain this item, which can be farmed repeatedly by doing the content. Additionally, Vanessa also has Cold Cohesion Transcendant mod, so make sure to check the icon once obtained for the correct Descendant.

The Devourer is susceptible to electrical damage; thus, Bunny and the Thunder Cage are the best combination for most players to farm this. Use modules like High-Voltage, Walk a Tightrope, Emergency Measures, Front Lines, and Electric Master for high damage. HP Collector can be helpful if you struggle with survivability. Bunny can strafe in a circle using Lighting Emission for passive damage. Additionally, consider doing this Void Intercept Battle solo as the boss scales depending on how many players are in the instance. Thus, Devourer will be much easier to complete solo than with four random players.

Cold Cohesion Information, Effects, How to Use

Cold Cohesion - The First Descendant
Hydro Pressure Bomb - The First Descendant

Here are all the Cold Cohesion Transcendent Module (Mod) features in the First Descendant (TFD):

  • Capacity: 15
  • Socket: Malachite
  • Class: Descendant
  • Effects: Leaps forward without creating a puddle and deals damage to the surrounding enemies on landing. The more enemies with Laundry, the more damage inflicted.
  • Character: Ultimate Valby

The best way to use the Cold Cohesion Hydro Pressure skill is by debuffing enemies first with Bubble Bullet to trigger the Laundry status effect. Hydro Pressure Bomb scales in effectiveness based on how many enemies Laundry affects. Therefore, it’s best to debuff before launching forward. The skill changes from a manually aimed skill to an automatic slight leap forward, similar to Ajax. Thus, ensure to be somewhat near the targets and equip modules to expand the range for maximum damage.

Additionally, once you equip the Cold Cohesion module, the original skill’s descendant attribute changes. Plop Plog is Non-Attribute and Dimension, while Cold Cohesion changes this skill to Hydro Pressure Bomb and thus Non-Attribute and Fusion. This is particularly helpful because your other skills, minus Clean Up, are all Fusion. Your reactor becomes critical to match the Non-Attribute Fusion to scale and produces as much damage with Cold Cohesion as possible.
