Gear in Throne and Liberty are the items you equip your character, including weapons, armor, and accessories. Depending on the type of gear, they affect your character in different ways. The Gear (Equipment) serves as your unwavering companion, an extension of your very being. Just like other MMO and RPG games, Gear in Throne and Liberty are divided into three different categories.
Types of Gear in Throne and Liberty
Armor: Your armor defends you against damage. Light Armor has lower defense and improves agility. Heavy Armor improves defense at the cost of agility and Medium Armor provides what both light and heavy armor offer. You can alleviate more damage by equipping good armor. The Armor is Throne and Liberty controls your defensive stats and provides stat boosts.
Weapons: Weapons are sometimes used to heal or buff the party member and also serve to deal damage to enemies. The weapons in Throne and Liberty define your class. The passives and abilities available to you are proportional to your equipped weapons. You can equip two weapons at a time, a primary weapon and a secondary weapon. Passives from both of your equipped weapons are always active.
The following weapons are available in Throne and Liberty:
NOTE: Keep in mind that you are only allowed to equip two weapons in the game and can switch between them on the battlefield. The type of weapons you have equipped determines active and passive skills and also the character’s available attacks.
Accessories: These further improve your character by buffing certain stats or granting you extra effects. You can equip rings, necklaces, and earring sets. All of these items support your character with their Traits but have the lowest direct impact on your stats. Your Mana Regen or Skill Damage is improved with items like Rings and Necklace.
Your first step when equipping the Gear is to select your weapons as these will determine your strengths and weaknesses, abilities and passives, character’s role, and making your build strong. To start with, you’ll only have basic equipment. You need to improve your skills, level up your character, and upgrade your equipment to create a mighty build in Throne and Liberty.

Rarity and Set Bonuses Explained
Gear is divided into 5 different categories and each of them is more powerful than the last. You can identify the different tiers of rarity by the color of their icon. Rear gear is harder to achieve but not impossible due to having stronger secondary stat buffs, higher base stats, more Rune slots, and more Trait slots. Gear has the following rarities in Throne and Liberty.
- Common: White
- Uncommon: Green
- Rare: Blue
- Epic: Purple
- Legendary: Yellow
Every Throne and Liberty Player must understand that upgrading your equipment to Legendary is a slow process but plays an important role in the end game. You need to upgrade to Legendary to get access to the maximum potential of your build.
Set bonuses are another crucial aspect of gear. Equipping enough items from the same gear set at the same time will provide you additional bonuses as many equipment items belong to a particular item set. These bonuses can sometimes make entirely new builds and will also make you powerful in the game.
Upgrading Equipment and Gear in Throne & Liberty
Your Gear can be upgraded from your Gear Enchanting menu. Use Growthstone to add EXP to your item, and when you gain 100% XP on the item it will improve by one level, enhancing the item’s stats. Upgrading your gear is also known as equipment enchanting and is an important aspect of progression at Throne & Liberty. While the item is equipped, you can increase the stats by upgrading your equipment. You will gain a chance of receiving EXP by consuming a Growthstone each time.
Enchanting Growth | Effect |
---|---|
Common Growth | 40% chance to gain 35% XP |
Intermediate Growth | 30% chance to obtain 40% XP |
Greater Growth | 20% chance to gain 60% XP |
Special Growth | 10% chance to obtain 100% XP |
Keep in mind that the Growthstone must be of the same rarity as the item you are upgrading. You can also transfer upgrade progress from one item to another.
How To Transfer Upgraded Gear To Higher Tiers
After your current piece of gear is at max level, you can use the Transfer tab in Equipment Enchanting to transfer the stats to a new weapon. However, be aware that this will destroy the original weapon.
First, go to the Equipment Enchanting in the main menu and then click on the Transfer tab at the top of the screen. Then, select the gear piece you wish to upgrade. Once that piece of gear is in place, then the gear selection on the right-hand side will display only gear that is the same type of piece.
Select the piece you wish to use to transfer it’s stats to the new gear piece. Remember, this gear piece will be lost afterward. Additionally, you can only use a gear piece for a transfer if you do not have it equipped at that time. Finally, click on ‘Transfer’ at the bottom of the screen to complete the process.
Gear Stats
When the item is equipped the items of equipment will provide several different stat buffs. These buffs cannot be customized by any means and are related to the item itself.
Gear Traits
Rarer and Uncommon items have more than one trait slot. To get a further stat buff, you must fill the trait slots with a trait. There’s a possibility of changing the Traits as well. Finding a similar item again and the second item with a different Trait will help you access the additional Trait slots. Every gear and weapon has some fixed stats and one trait at level one.
Select the Trait List icon from the context menu to see the full list of possible traits by clicking on the item. This will show you the traits the item can have and other items that share these traits. The Green items can have up to 2 traits; each can be leveled once. Blue items can have 3 traits and each trait can be leveled up two more times. Purple items have three traits and can be leveled up three more times.
You can also level up your trait by using the other item that has the same trait and is not equipped on your character. It would be best to have boots with the same trait to trait your boots. You can level up the traits by the following steps.
- Choose the item and press the Enchant option to level your trait.
- Select the Trait Tab after opening the Equipment Enchanting menu.
- Choose the item from the list you want to improve.
- The suitable item will appear on the right side of the screen.
