Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Best Weapons Tier List for Yasuke and Naoe

Assassin’s Creed Shadows features exclusive weapons for both Yasuke and Naoe. Let’s take a look at which ones are the best in the game.

Weapon Tier List in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Assassin’s Creed Shadows features several weapons that are exclusive to each of the two protagonists in the game. Naoe will have access to three weapons – Katana, Tanto, and Kusarigama, while Yasuke will be able to wield five – Long Katana, Naginata, Teppo, Kanabo, and Bow.

In addition to weapon levels, rarities, and upgrades, players would also be able to spend Skill Points on these weapons. With a total of eight different Skill Trees for weapons, one has a lot of planning to do when deciding on where to spend their points. Let’s take a look at what weapons stand out as the best in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

S-Tier Weapons in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The S-tier weapons include Naoe’s Katana and Yasuke’s Long Katana. Both weapons are available from the beginning by default and are two of the best in terms of skills and usability. They are also the most suitable for beginners. However, players can find themselves a good S-tier weapon of legendary rarity for dealing better damage.

Naoe’s Katana

Naoe’s Katana serves as the best weapon in the game because of its good range and damage. It is available as a starter weapon, however, players can defeat targets, kill enemies like Daishos, and loot Castle chests to get higher rarity and damage dealing Katana in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Yasuke’s Long Katana

Yasuke’s Long Katana is similar to Naoe’s Katana and can be considered his best weapon too, thus earning its spot in the S-tier. This weapon is a longer and bigger Katana that Yasuke uses to pair up with his brute strength to pierce enemies and throw them off when performing a finisher.

The weapon’s range is almost as good as his Naginata, which is another S-tier weapon for the Samurai.

Yasuke’s Naginata

The Naginata provides long-range and high damage to single enemies. Additionally, it has some of the best Skill Tree abilities in the game.

One of the best early-game Naginata abilities in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the Crescent Strike ability. It deals 25% ability damage to enemies and knocks them back with a swing.

A-Tier Weapons in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

This tier of weapons consists of Naoe’s Tanto and Yasuke’s Kanabo. Both weapons are suited for two entirely different play styles, but so are the protagonists of the game, Naoe and Yasuke. Tanto is a lightweight weapon and Kanabo is a huge damage dealer.

Naoe’s Tanto

Naoe’s Tanto is one of the best weapons in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is mainly used for dealing volleys of quick attacks. Each slash does not deal a lot of damage but it is possible to land several hits with the weapon after a dodge or parry.

Players who like agile and fast-paced combat can equip this weapon using Naoe.

Yasuke’s Kanabo

The Kanabo is a good weapon for dealing Area of Effect damage as it can knockback multiple enemies with one swing. Although it does not deal as much damage as the Long Katana, it is great in combat with multiple enemies.

B-Tier Weapons in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

This tier includes the Kusarigama and Teppo. Both of these weapons unlock midway through the game. They have some decent Skill Tree abilities, animations, and combos. Regardless, they fail to deal a lot of damage in fights.

Naoe’s Kusarigama

Naoe’s Kusarigama is good for chain attacks in both single and multiple-enemy fights. However, it lacks damage and fails to deliver late-game. Players can use it for some time by pairing it with some abilities. However, it is better not to spend a lot of Skill Points on this weapon before you do so with the S-tier and A-tier weapons.

Yasuke’s Teppo

Yasuke’s Teppo is a ranged gun, which is one of the two long-ranged weapons in the game. It deals decent damage and is useful when you need to create some distance between yourself and the enemy. When Yasuke is low on health, players can go long-range and try to deal some damage with the Teppo.

However, bullets run out. Once it does, the weapon is useless. Additionally, the high reload time makes it difficult to use the weapon for an extended period in a fight.

C-Tier Weapons in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The only weapon to fall under this tier is Yasuke’s Bow. Although it is not much worse than his Teppo, a bow is not very efficient. Players would hardly need to use this weapon, owing especially to the availability of several other great weapons in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Yasuke’s Bow

Players who love archery can mix in both melee and long-ranged combat by using the Bow in combination with the Long Katana. Similar to the Teppo, arrow capacity is limited as well. Once Yasuke runs out of arrows, you’ll have to use your primary weapon in fights.

Acquiring skills on the Skill Tree improves the long-ranged play style a little. However, it does not create a huge impact in fights and one should spend points on other Weapon skills first.
