From Spark to Flame is a main mission in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, where Naoe leaves Makinoodera to seek out her old family friend, Tomiko. Earlier in the game, Naoe and her father were attacked by some masked samurais and her father was brutally killed. From Spark to Flame mission begins with Naoe bidding farewell to her caretakers, Sorin and Junjiro. The mission requires you to complete the following objectives:

Return to Tomiko
Gathering resources for the Kakurega
Building the Kakurega

Return to Tomiko

At the beginning of the mission, you must reach Tomiko’s house. Upon arrival, you will find her working in the garden. After greeting her, a cutscene will trigger where Tomiko asks Naoe about her father, Nagato. Naoe’s subtle head movement and silence make it clear to Tomiko that Nagato is no longer alive. Then, she invites Naoe inside the home.

Naoe tells Tomiko that there were 11 masked Samurais that killed her father. She further shows Tomiko a sketch of the enemies. Tomiko, filled with rage, tells Naoe to take revenge for his father’s death by killing the enemies. A dialogue will open with the following choices:

I am ready.
If I must.

Both of these options will make Naoe utter “I won’t hesitate”. Then, Tomiko will stand up and tell Naoe that they must act strategically, gather supplies, and recruit new allies. Further, she narrates her background story of all the sufferings she experienced because of the same people who killed Nagato.

Gathering Resources for the Kakurega

Firstly, gather supplies to rebuild the hideout. These supplies are scattered around Tomiko’s homestead. In order to highlight them, press L2/LT on your controller. Completing the Mission

Afterward, a cutscene begins with Tomiko and Naoe looking at the sketch. Then, they hear a knock at the gate. Cautiously, they open it to find Junjiro and Sorin standing outside.

Sorin will tell that he is going on a pilgrimage, while Junjiro wants to stay with Naoe. A dialogue option will then open with the following choices:

There is no place for a child.
You can stay, Junjiro.

Select the second option, and Tomiko will joke: So, we are taking in strays, are we? Naoe will respond: you were the one who said we needed allies. Think of Junjiro as a first recruit. Later, Tomiko discovers clues about the enemies and suggests Naoe meet a blacksmith in Sakai.
