Assassin’s Creed Shadows: The Killing Field Main Quest Walkthrough

Discover the location of Wada Koretake’s executioner for The Killing Field mission in Assassin’s Creed Shadows and how to assassinate him.

Following The Fatherless Monk main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, The Killing Field is a mission in Naoe’s storyline that brings her closer to exacting revenge on Wada Koretake, one of the Onryo who killed her father. The quest has a recommended level of six (which can vary) and rewards a hood along with 1000 XP. It also provides crucial clues for advancing Naoe’s Onryo storyline. You will first need to determine the exact location of Wada Koretake’s executioner and then assassinate him.

Where is the Executioner in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Naoe receives information from Yaya about Wada Koretake’s executioner, Shindo Hiroshi, stating that he is:

• In Izumi Settsu
• West of Amagasaki
• At Nanatsumatsu

Open the map and find Amagasaki Castle in the westernmost corner of Izumi Settsu. Then trace the road directly west (left) of the castle where it passes by a pond or where two animals graze under a hut in the fog of war painting. This is where you’ll find Nanatsumatsu and the executioner. You can spend a scout to explore this area and pinpoint his location or head there directly using the nearest fast travel point. 

How to Beat the Executioner (Shindo Hiroshi)

The easiest way to assassinate Shindo Hiroshi in The Killing Field is to use stealth and the cover of darkness. This approach is especially effective for the mission since the executioner and his soldiers hold hostages in their camp.

When approaching the camp from the east, avoid the main road leading into it. Climb the rock that serves as a vantage point on its eastern side, and observe (right-click in PC) all the guards to plan your approach. Have one core objective in mind: assassinating the executioner using stealth. He is the toughest enemy in the camp, but a stealth attack will eliminate him instantly. It is simpler to fight the rest of the guards after eliminating him.

The Stealth Approach

• Climb the fence in front of your vantage point east of the camp. Part of the fence is also broken on this flank and you can slip inside.
• Skirt around to the right and stealth kill the guard working on a cart. 
• Head past the bonfire to the elevated platform with banners. 
• Assassinate the gun-wielding enemy.
• Stealth kill the guard ahead and crawl into the trench heading to the center.
• Assassinate the guard at the end of the trench.
• When you emerge, the executioner should have his back to you. If he does not, skirt around the camp’s periphery until you can find an opportunity. 
• Assassinate the Shindo Hiroshi and the mission is complete.
• You can fight the remaining guards to free the hostages and collect loot. 

If you prefer a more direct approach, you can also climb the fence and assassinate the executioner first. You will then need to fight the rest of the camp head-on. After assassinating the Shindo Hiroshi you will retrieve a letter containing intelligence on Wada Koretake, leading to the Stolen Faith mission.
