Destiny 2 Best Seasonal Weapons Before The Final Shape

In Destiny 2, every season provides a slew of new weapons to obtain with various perks, damage styles, and frames. Each season brings new activities and triumphs to collect the available weapons. With so many weapons available from each season throughout the year, it can be difficult to manage which ones you should prioritize to farm for. So, we will go through how to obtain the best and most powerful seasonal weapons in Destiny 2 before they are unobtainable in the Final Shape.

The Destiny 2 Best Seasonal Weapons Before the Final Shape

Best Destiny 2 Builds - Season 24 - The Final Shape

The Regnant is the best overall seasonal weapon in Destiny 2 due to its high boss damage per second. With the Regnant, you can have high burst damage from overflowing your magazine and access to a best-in-slot damage perk. Lastly, being a seasonal weapon, the Regnant is craftable, giving every guardian easy access to one of the best boss DPS weapons available.

Here are the best seasonal weapons in Destiny 2:

  1. Regnant: Void Heavy Grenade Launcher
  2. Scatter Signal: Strand Fusion Rifle
  3. Perpetualis: Strand Auto Rifle
  4. Locus Locutus: Stasis Sniper Rifle

10. Appetence

Destiny 2 Appetence Trace Rifle

Appetence base stats in Destiny 2:

  • Impact: 6
  • Range: 70
  • Stability: 75
  • Handling: 50
  • Reload Speed: 46
  • Aim Assistance: 100
  • Rounds Per Minute: 1000
  • Magazine: 97

The Appetence is a stasis adaptive frame trace rifle from Season 23 of the Wish. Trace rifles can be powerful special ammo weapons, often replacing a primary weapon in certain builds. The Appentence is no exception to this rule and performs well as a trace rifle. Its biggest negative is dealing with the ammo economy. Since this weapon is a special weapon and it functions similarly to a primary, you are going to burn through ammo. So, for most content outside of places with rally banners, like dungeons and raids, the ammo can be difficult to maintain, which is why it ranks so low on our list.

To obtain the Appetence, you can complete the seasonal activities of Riven’s Lair and The Coil, which are found in the Helm location on your Director Map. Also, you can purchase additional rolls from the Spirit of Riven seasonal vendor by traveling to the Helm and going through the eastern corridor.

9. Doomed Petitioner

Destiny 2 Doomed Petitioner Linear Fusion Rifle

Doomed Petitioner base stats in Destiny 2:

  • Impact: 41
  • Range: 45
  • Stability: 46
  • Handling: 25
  • Reload Speed: 24
  • Aim Assistance: 64
  • Charge Time: 533
  • Magazine: 5

The Doomed Petitioner is a void aggressive frame linear fusion rifle from Season 23 Season of The Wish. LFRs (Linear Fusion Rifles) are precision-based heavy weapons capable of high boss damage. Linear Fusion Rifles are great for sustained damage and often have great ammo economy perks. The biggest negative is that they require precision damage to deal substantial damage. Also, LFRs were meta-heavy-weapons for years but due to nerfs in recent times, they have been outscaled by other options and are only good for their ammo economy and in certain encounters.

To obtain the Doomed Petitioner, you can complete the seasonal activities of Riven’s Lair and The Coil, which are found in the Helm location on your Director Map. Also, you can purchase additional rolls from the Spirit of Riven seasonal vendor by traveling to the Helm and going through the eastern corridor.

8. Spare Rations

Destiny 2 Spare Rations Hand Cannon

Spare Rations base stats in Destiny 2:

  • Range: 36
  • Stability: 47
  • Handling: 71
  • Reload Speed: 56
  • Aim Assistance: 83
  • Rounds Per Minute: 140
  • Magazine: 13

The Spare Rations is a kinetic adaptive frame hand cannon from Season 21, Season of the Deep. This kinetic hand cannon is a reprised model of a previous sunset community favorite weapon, now returned with a refreshed loot pool. Spare Rations perform well in PVE and PVP scenarios and have fantastic perks based on various preferences and content. However, several hand cannons have been released this year that can outperform Spare Rations. So, it only becomes a solid choice for those with poor RNG or just want access to an easily available hand cannon. Its negatives are why Spare Rations is ranked so low on our Best Seasonal Weapons in Destiny 2.

To obtain the Spare Rations, you can complete the seasonal activities of Salvage, Deep Dive, or Zone Fishing found in the helm location on your Director Map. Also, you can purchase additional rolls from the Sonar Station seasonal vendor by traveling to the Helm and going through the western corridor.

7. Royal Executioner

Destiny 2 Royal Executioner Fusion Rifle

Royal Executioner base stats in Destiny 2:

  • Range: 31
  • Stability: 35
  • Handling: 30
  • Reload Speed: 32
  • Aim Assistance: 43
  • Charge Time: 660
  • Magazine: 6

The Royal Executioner is a solar adaptive frame fusion rifle from Season 20 Season of Defiance. Fusion rifles are fantastic burst special ammo weapons often used to take out major-level enemies or used against bosses as a second weapon for damage. They require charging up before firing, but pack a punch when you hit the target. Also, the Royal Executioner has some strong perks for damage and trash mob clearing. This allows it to be a great utility weapon to have in your arsenal. Since the Royal Executioners’ perks are great for everything but not best in the slot for specific use, this causes it to be on the lower half of our rankings.

To obtain the Royal Executioner, you can complete the seasonal activities of Defiant Battlegrounds found in the helm location on your Director Map. Also, you can purchase additional rolls from the seasonal vendor, the War Table, by traveling to the Helm and going to the table north of the loading spawn.

6. Bug-Out Bag

Destiny 2 Bug-Out Bag Submachine Gun

Bug-Out Bag base stats in Destiny 2:

  • Impact: 20
  • Range: 38
  • Stability: 39
  • Handling: 47
  • Reload Speed: 47
  • Aim Assistance: 46
  • Rounds Per Minute: 900
  • Magazine: 33

The Bug-Out Bag is a solar adaptive frame submachine gun from Season 21 Season of the Deep. Solar submachine guns have been praised as some of the best available in recent years due to the perk Incandescent. It causes solar explosions that scorch nearby targets after a kill. This allows massive trash mob clearing while offering fantastic damage and fire rates. The Bug-Out Bag is no exception to the rule, covering a very easy-to-use submachine gun with great perks. Its biggest negative is that other submachine guns can do what they do but better, or people already have them due to their popularity. Similarly to Spare Rations, the Bug-Out Bag is only important for those who don’t already have other available options. This is why it’s one of the lower half of the best seasonal weapons to get in Destiny 2 before the Final Shape.

To obtain the Bug-Out Bag, you can complete the seasonal activities of Salvage, Deep Dive, or Zone Fishing found in the helm location on your Director Map. Also, you can purchase additional rolls from the Sonar Station seasonal vendor by traveling to the Helm and going through the western corridor.

5. Semiotician

Destiny 2 Semiotician Rocket Launcher

Semiotician base stats in Destiny 2:

  • Blast Radius: 90
  • Velocity: 44
  • Stability: 56
  • Handling: 69
  • Reload Speed: 38
  • Aim Assistance: 72
  • Rounds Per Minute: 15
  • Magazine: 1

The Semiotician is a strand high-impact frame rocket launcher from Season 22 Season of the Witch. Rocket Launchers are fantastic boss damage weapons, allowing for great sustained overall damage and damage per second. However, rocket launchers can be dangerous as using them too close to your target can cause the explosive to kill you as well. Also, Semiotician is a high-impact frame that deals less damage per shot than other frames available for rocket launchers. Although Semiotician is the only strand energy rocket launcher currently craftable, it’s a great option to match activity weapon surges.

To obtain the Semiotician, you can complete the seasonal activities of Savathun’s Spire and Alters of Summoning found in the helm location on your Director Map. Also, you can purchase additional rolls from the seasonal vendor, the Ritual Table, by traveling to the Helm and going through the southern corridor.

4. Locus Locutus

Destiny 2 Locus Locutus Sniper Rifle

Locus Locutus base stats in Destiny 2:

  • Impact: 70
  • Range: 48
  • Stability: 44
  • Handling: 42
  • Reload Speed: 42
  • Aim Assistance: 61
  • Rounds Per Minute: 90
  • Magazine: 4

The Locus Locutus is a stasis adaptive frame sniper rifle from Season 22 Season of the Witch. Sniper rifles are often used for ranged damage on high-health targets. They don’t have the best magazine capacity but they make up for it in single-shot damage. However, snipers, like linear fusion rifles, suffer greatly if you do not land precision shots. So, they are significantly better against targets that do not move a lot or have large precision hit boxes. Locus Locutus also has some great damage perks, but being an adaptive frame makes it hit less than other available frames. As it has positives that can sometimes outweigh the negatives, it makes it into the top half of our best seasonal weapons to get before the Final Shape.

To obtain the Locus Locutus, you can complete the seasonal activities of Savathun’s Spire and Alters of Summoning found in the helm location on your Director Map. Also, you can purchase additional rolls from the seasonal vendor, the Ritual Table, by traveling to the Helm and going through the southern corridor.

3. Perpetualis

Destiny 2 Perpetualis Auto Rifle

Perpetualis base stats in Destiny 2:

  • Impact: 21
  • Range: 43
  • Stability: 35
  • Handling: 62
  • Reload Speed: 58
  • Aim Assistance: 67
  • Rounds Per Minute: 600
  • Magazine: 41

The Perpetualis is a strand adaptive frame auto rifle from Season 20 Season of Defiance. Auto Rifles fill a similar place as submachine guns in your loadout, so they are great to help take out trash mobs and keep our builds going. Since primary weapons don’t run out of ammo, they are great for consistent damage without worrying about having ammo. The Perpetualis drops with great PVE and strand perks, providing utility to an already powerful auto rifle. There are other great options for strand auto rifles, but Perpetualis is one of two that’s craftable and doesn’t require end-game raids to collect. This makes it easy for many players to obtain and is one of the best seasonal weapon options for those searching to use it with a strand build in the Final Shape.

To obtain the Perpetualis, you can complete the seasonal activities of Defiant Battlegrounds found in the helm location on your Director Map. Also, you can purchase additional rolls from the seasonal vendor, the War Table, by traveling to the Helm and going to the table north of the loading spawn.

2. Scatter Signal

Destiny 2 Scatter Signal Fusion Rifle

Scatter Signal base stats in Destiny 2:

  • Impact: 55
  • Range: 23
  • Stability: 36
  • Handling: 52
  • Reload Speed: 46
  • Aim Assistance: 39
  • Rounds Per Minute: 500
  • Magazine: 7

The Scatter Signal is a strand rapid-fire frame fusion rifle from Season 23 Season of the Wish. It’s one of the best damage and utility fusions available in Destiny 2. Also, Scatter Signal is easily farmable and craftable, making it a great option for anyone to collect. Fusions are fantastic damage weapons and provide high bursts toward high-health targets. The Scatter Signal has access to Controlled Burst, a damage-boosting perk that has become a must-have perk on all fusion rifles. Also, it can roll with Slice, which debuffs enemies, reducing the damage they can do to you. Scatter Signal is one of the best fusion frames, has access to best-in-slot perks, and is easily obtainable, making it the second-best weapon on our best Destiny 2 seasonal weapons to get before the Final Shape list.

To obtain the Scatter Signal, you can complete the seasonal activities of Riven’s Lair and The Coil, which are found in the Helm location on your Director Map. Also, you can purchase additional rolls from the Spirit of Riven seasonal vendor by traveling to the Helm and going through the eastern corridor.

1. Regnant

Destiny 2 Regnant Grenade Launcher

Regnant base stats in Destiny 2:

  • Blast Radius: 50
  • Velocity: 28
  • Stability: 37
  • Handling: 40
  • Reload Speed: 39
  • Aim Assistance: 31
  • Rounds Per Minute: 120
  • Magazine: 5

The Regnant is the best overall seasonal weapon to get in Destiny 2 before the Final Shape. The Regnant is a void adaptive frame heavy grenade launcher from Season 20 Season of Defiance. Heavy grenade Launchers have always been great damage per second weapons but suffered in sustained and overall damage. However, due to recent buffs, they have become boss damage meta, allowing them to have more ammo and deal more damage. With great perk options to overfill the magazine and access to some of the best damage perks available, Regnant takes the crown for one of the best heavy weapons for boss damage. While there are other options for heavy grenade launchers, the Regnant is amazing because it’s easy to collect and craft with enhanced perks instead of dealing with RNG.

To obtain the Regnant, you can complete the seasonal activities of Defiant Battlegrounds found in the helm location on your Director Map. Also, you can purchase additional rolls from the seasonal vendor, the War Table, by traveling to the Helm and going to the table north of the loading spawn.
