Sniper Rifles are great options for PvE and PvP. They do decent damage to bosses in long range situations in PvE. They are a favorite in PvP allowing for one shot kills, provided you can hit your headshots.

Last Foray can be obtained by a random legendary engram drops or from rank up packages at Banshee-44 in the tower. You can rank up Banshee-44 easily by dismantling weapons and armor you don’t need. You can also check Banshee-44’s rotating weapon inventory for possible rolls.

Column 3 TraitEnvious Assassin
Column 4 TraitFocused Fury
Origin TraitField-Tested

ModBack-Up Mag
PvE Last Foray God Roll

Barrel: Aggressive Frame Snipers fire slow but kick hard. Take Arrowhead Brake to mitigate that.

Magazine: Appended Mag paired with Back-Up Mag will get the most bullets down range.

Column 3 Trait: Envious Assassin is a really great perk on boss damage weapons. Since almost all bosses in Destiny have mobs that need to be defeated, you will almost always be overflowing your magazine.

Column 4 Trait: Sadly this weapon doesn’t have Firing Line, but Focused Fury is good enough, and has the added benefit of working in Solo content.

Origin Trait: Field Tested in an interesting Origin perk but seems less useful on special weapons than primaries.

Masterwork: Range is great for target acquisition, but honestly anything will do for PvE.

Mods: As stated above, Appended Mag paired with Back-Up Mag will get the most bullets down range.

Conclusion: Not a terrible sniper rifle to have for PvE. It will be a great option for Solo Content. It has Envious Assassin as well which may have it eek out other energy snipers for DPS phases even if they have Firing Line.

PvP Last Foray God Roll

Column 3 TraitElemental Capacitor

PvP Last Foray God Roll

Barrel: You can max out this things Range stat by having Hammer-Forged Rifling, paired with Accurized Rounds and a Range Masterwork.

Magazine: Seriously, max out the range with Accurized Rounds, it will make the accuracy cone much more effective at longer ranges.

Column 3 Trait: Sadly, there just aren’t a lot of great options in Column 3 for PvP. Elemental Capacitor is the best of the bunch, but doesn’t really add a lot for this sniper unless you are running a void or arc subclass.

Column 4 Trait: Rangefinder is getting a nerf soon, but it still the king of PvP traits. Even so, its still not the absolute best perk on snipers (Its still really good though.) Its definitely better than anything offered on this thing.

Origin Trait: Field Tested is interesting perk for PvP. Its bonuses are passive so it may help in a pinch but I wouldn’t depend on it.

Masterwork: Max out the Range. Its honestly all this sniper has going for it in PvP

Mods: Helping the aim assist stat is another important PvP option, so Targeting Adjuster is a great pick.

Conclusion: Sadly this weapon just lacks anything really that makes it stand out in PvP. You can have a Range monster, but if you are the type that loves snipers, there are still much better options.
