Destiny 2 Prismatic Hunter PVE Build

This build will be updated upon the release of the Final Shape in Season 24.

Why Should You Play Prismatic Hunter in PVE?

PVE Prismatic Hunter is a brand new subclass released in Destiny 2 with the Final Shape expansion. While we don’t know every detail of the subclass available, we are sure this subclass will be one of the strongest things given to our guardians. The Prismatic subclass allows for combining different points of the various subclasses into one powerful subclass. This is going to lead to some interesting and powerful combinations. The object of the subclass is to combine and customize a subclass exactly how you want it to release the most carnage. Find out all the details on how to craft, create, and optimize our Prismatic Hunter PVE Build.

Abilities

The best abilities for the Prismatic Hunter PVE Build are Withering Blade, Duskfield Grenade, and Deadfall Super. The Withering Blade is a melee that can bounce between multiple combatants slowing any that were hit. Also, Duskfield Grenade provides a bubble upon impact that slows and can freeze enemies caught inside. Lastly, the Deadfall Super gives us the highest debuff position and can tether enemies together causing them to share damage taken between them.

Shadowshot: Deadfall

Gambler’s Dodge

Triple Jump

Duskfield Grenade

Withering Blade

Shadowshot: Deadfall – This super tethers enemies together debuffing them and spreading damage dealt to any enemies caught in the tether

Gambler's Dodge – Activating this dodge while in close proximity to enemies will give you your melee ability back

Triple Jump – The most common jump for a PVE hunter due to its easy of use and strong control. It also allows hunters to generally go higher and further with their jumps.

Duskfield Grenade – Grenade that spawns a dome that can slow and freeze any enemies caught inside

Withering Blade – Melee that can bounce to multiple enemies, dealing damage to each one and slowing them.

The most important abilities we use in this build are our Withering Blade and Duskfield Grenade. These, when paired with our aspect, will give us constant grenades and invisibility. Also, they are fantastic for controlling trash enemies by slowing or freezing them in place. Lastly, our Deadfall super provides us with more trash enemy control as well as a debuff for dealing with large enemies.

Aspects

The best aspects to use with our Prismatic Hunter PVE Build are Gunpowder Gamble and Stylist Executioner. Gunpowder Gamble provides us with a second grenade that deals massive area-of-effect damage by getting solar kills. Also, Stylish Executioner makes us invisible upon killing a subclass debuffed target.

Gunpowder Gamble

Stylish Executioner

Gunpowder Gamble – Defeating targets with solar damage build up charges for a solar grenade

Stylish Executioner – Killing a subclass debuffed target grants invisibility

Gunpowder Gamble is essential with this build since it provides a solar debuff and area-of-effect damage grenade for getting kills. Lastly, Stylish Executioner provides us with a survivability buff by making us invisible after killing an enemy affected by a subclass debuff.

Fragments

The best fragments for our Prismatic Hunter PVE Build are the Facet of Dawn, the Facet of Purpose, the Facet of Protection, the Facet of Balance, and the Facet of Hope. Since these provide us with damage resistance, damage boost, and ability energy.

  • Facet of Dawn: Powered melee hits and kills give radiance to us and nearby allies
  • Facet of Purpose: Picking up an orb of power grants one survivability buff depending upon the equipped super
  • Facet of Protection: While surrounded by enemies, you have increased resistance
  • Facet of Balance: Rapidly defeating enemies with Light damage gives melee energy. Rapidly defeating enemies with Dark damage gives grenade energy
  • Facet of Hope: Gives class ability energy while you have an elemental buff active

Facet of Dawn, Facet of Hope, and Facet of Balance are the most important fragments for our build since they provide a constant damage buff and allow us to continue our gameplay loop. Facet of Purpose and Facet of Protection provide us with some additional survivability giving us damage resistance while we are near enemies and providing a void overshield with our equipped super.

Weapons

The best weapons for our Prismatic Hunter PVE Build are Mountaintop, Zaouli’s Bane, and Dragon’s Breath. Dragon’s Breath is the star of the show allowing us to deal constant boss damage and trash mob clearing all in one. Also, Mountaintop provides us with a great burst damage weapon that is capable of dealing massive damage with a single shot. Lastly, Zaouli’s Bane is one of the strongest solar hand cannons for PVE in the game due to its damage and trash mob clearing. It pairs great by providing us with constant debuffs on targets for our build.

Here’s a list of the best weapon loadouts for our Prismatic Hunter PVE Build:

  • Kinetic: Mountaintop, Kinetic Micro-Missile Grenade Launcher
  • Energy: Zaouli’s Bane, Solar Adaptive Hand Cannon
  • Heavy: Dragon’s Breath, Exotic Solar Rocket Launcher

Alternatively, you can run any legendary special weapon in the kinetic slot. However, you should prioritize a weapon that has great burst damage other aspects of our build handle that well. Most of the weapons can be swapped out for preference but should have similar perks or utility to keep up the aspects and fragments that the build is centered around.

Exotic Armor

The best exotic armor for the Prismatic Hunter PVE build is the new exotic hunter class item. While we don’t know all the details of this new exotic armor, we do know it will provide us with two exotic perks on one item. Also, we know that the perks are not bound to one class allowing the use of exotic perks that previously only one class had access to. As we learn more about this new exotic, we will update this section with our recommended perk choices for the build.

Armor Stats

The best stats to focus on in our Prismatic Hunter PVE Build are Mobility, Resilience, and Discipline. Since these provide us with survivability, reduce our class ability cooldown, and reduce our grenade cooldown.

  • Mobility: 100
  • Resilience: 80
  • Recovery: 20
  • Disciple: 50
  • Intellect: 30
  • Strength: 50

Armor Mods

The best armor mods for our Prismatic PVE Build are Ashes to Assets, Solar Weapon Surge, and Time Dilation. Since these build into our weapon damage and super regeneration.

Gameplay Tips

This Prismatic Hunter PVE Build utilizes our regular gameplay loop of melees, grenades, and super to keep enemies at bay. However, one of the massive changes with Prismatic is known as Transcendence. Transcendence is a sudo-super mode of the subclass that is triggered upon filling up a dark and light bar located under your super. Once these are both filled, you can enter Transcendence which gives us boosted melee and grenade recharge rates, boosted weapon damage, and extra resistances. Also, we gain access to a transcendence-specific grenade for hunters called the Hailfire Spike. This is a grenade charged with both solar and stasis energy and it sticks to targets or surfaces and will erupt into a slowing storm. Afterwards, the device ignites and it creates a scorching cyclone. Balancing this light and darkness bar and utilizing Transcendence to its height damage will provide the build with unparalleled power.

Our melee and our grenade are quite powerful and fantastic trash mob controllers. Also, our super not only provides one of the highest debuffs in the game but feeds into our trash mod clearing ability. This makes it capable of dealing massive single-target boss damage while clearing out any trash enemies that are in the vicinity.
