Everything you need to know about how to get the Ayleid Refuge overland set explained that you can get from the West Weald zone in ESO.
Ayleid Refuge
Ayleid Refuge Features and Set Bonuses in ESO:
- Name: Ayleid Refuge
- Type: Overland Set
- Available Armor Weight: Heavy
- Location: West Weald
- Requires DLC: Gold Road Chapter
- Armor Set bonuses (Level 50 – CP 160):
- (2 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
- (3 items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
- (4 items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
- (5 items) Blocking an attack reduces your Damage Taken by 11% for 3 seconds.
In ESO (The Elder Scrolls Online), Ayleid Refuge is an overland tank set that temporarily decreases the damage taken when you block an attack.
All you need to do is specifically block an attack, not just hold block. Then, you’ll take 11% damage less for three seconds. In a lot of content, this buff will actually stay up for a relatively long time, but it still might not be as useful as it seems on the surface.
How to Use the Ayleid Refuge Set in PvE and PvP?
Overall, you’ll easily get the Ayleid Refuge set from doing overland content, but you probably won’t run it anywhere. This is because of how damage mitigation works in ESO. There’s a lot of complexity to it, but damage mitigation is all multiplicative. For this reason, damage mitigation is less and less effective the more you have.
Tanks can already get quite a lot of damage mitigation. Because of this, they usually pick 5-piece bonuses that benefit the rest of the group instead of their survivability.
Player vs. Environment (PvE) – You’ll probably never want to run this in PvE content, since you can bring so many other sets that buff your group. While survivability is nice, damage is also a kind of a form of survivability in PvE content. For instance, the faster something dies, the less damage it gets to do to the group. With such a small buff from Ayleid Refuge in ESO, there are just better options to run.
Player vs. Player (PvP) – Keeping Ayleid Refuge up in PvP could be better, but remember this effect takes up an entire 5-piece bonus. If this were a mythic, it could see some play, but it doesn’t offer enough survivability on its own to be worth running in PvP.
How to Get the Ayleid Refuge Set in ESO?
You can still get the Ayleid Refuge set in ESO through the overland content in West Weald. West Weald is the new zone coming with the Gold Road Chapter in the Elder Scrolls Online, but simply playing the content will get you pieces of the set. Each piece in the overland set specifically drops from different kinds of content throughout the West Weald zone.
Simply running around, adventuring, completing quests, and playing the Gold Road content will fill out the Ayleid Refuge set in no time.
