Unlock the powerful Ballistic Weave Armor modification, rivaling even power Armor defenses. It can be worn under Armor and a few hats, providing additional bonuses while progressing. Ballistic Weave in Fallout 4

Ballistic Weave is one of the best Armor mods in Fallout 4 that adds high Damage Resistance and Energy Resistance to certain clothing items. This mod creates lighter clothing more protective than heavy Armor while keeping the stylish look. You can apply the Ballistic Weave to specific clothing items, allowing them to be worn under Armor pieces for maximum protection. You will not face any movement penalty like heavy Armor and can mix with legendary gear for extra bonuses.

Acquiring this Armor mod is a little bit tricky and difficult as you need to progress through several questlines. Newsboy Cap, Battered Fedora, Tattered Rags, Army Fatigues, and Military Fatigues are the best clothing for Ballistic Weave. Ballistic Weave is a must if you’re playing Survival Mode or just want high defense without bulky Armor. Unlock the Ballistic Weave mods by taking part in the Railroad faction and talking to Tinker Tom. Push your total Damage resistance and Energy resistance by wearing Military fatigue with a Ballistic Weave and Heavy Combat Armor. A Newboy Cap with Ballistic Weave makes you tanky.

Once you have met the railroad, you will also end up meeting Deacon. When you meet Deacon, you will be given a quest called tradecraft. You gain access inside you will need to come and speak to the NPC called Doctor Carrington. What the doctor will do is give you another Quest and this Quest will be called Boston After Dark.

This will be again another linear Quest that you will need to complete. Once you complete it, again return to the railroad. After completing the quest Boston of the Dark, you need to yet again return to the railroad. You will need to come and speak to the P.A.M. Pam will give you a quest called the Mercer Safehouse. This is another linear Quest that you will need to complete. Once you’ve completed again just return to the railroad.

That’s the cue you want where he says that Tom wants to speak to you. Go ahead and locate Tom. Once you hear both of these dialogues, this unlocks Ballistic Weave mode for you.

Go ahead and access an Armor workbench and you should see it appliable or applicable for normal clothing. If you open the Armor workbench, you can have Army Fatigue, Baseball Uniform, Battered Fedora, Dirty Army Fatigue and Pip-Boy, and Trilby Hat. What does ballistic weave do?

A Ballistic Weave is an Armor mod that improves the defensive stats of certain clothing items. Use it to upgrade outfits, clothing worn under Armor, and some hats. It boosts the damage resistance and energy resistance of certain clothing items. Ballistic Weave allows you to wear stylish outfits with the protection of heavy Armor. It can be applied at an Armor Workbench once unlocked. However, it doesn’t change the appearance of clothing in the game.

You can combine it with the Armor pieces like chest, arms, and legs for additional protection. The best to use the Ballistic Weave is to apply it to clothing like Military Fatigues or Army Fatigues. You can wear it under the Armor, giving you more protection. You can combine it with legendary gear like the “Agility +1” Newsboy Cap for additional bonuses. Utilize it in the Survival Mode to maximize protection. You can also upgrade the companions’ base outfits with the weave. This makes them a viable option later in the game.
