How to Get X-02 Power Armor in Fallout 4?

In Fallout 4, the easiest way to get the Tesla Cannon is by following the steps of the ‘Echoes of the Past’ quest. You’ll be killing plenty of Enclave Soldiers along the way, and some will drop the pieces of X-02 Power Armor you need to make a full set.

No one specific Enclave soldier is wearing a set of Power Armor, but you can find the pieces while completing the ‘Echoes of the Past‘ quest. This quest was officially added to the Fallout 4 base game with the most recent update patch on April 25, 2024.

Steps to find X-02 Power Armor during Echoes of the Past quest:

  • Follow spatters to Enclave camp and kill soldiers
  • Track Enclave Homing Beacon from Edge of Glowing sea, southwest to the Atlantic Offices
  • Kill Enclave enemies in the Atlantic Offices Building
  • Investigate and clear out the Southern, Western, and Easter Enclave Encampments

You can also get a full set of the X-02 Power Armor by completing a Creation Club content quest called ‘Speak of the Devil.’ However, the Echoes of the Past quest is probably the easier way of collecting all of the armor pieces. Nevertheless, we’ll break down the steps of the quest below.

  • The start of the quest will direct you to Wattz Consumer Electronics, which is north of Diamond City Market.
  • Pick up the Holotape on the table with a radio and read the note
  • Locate Richie’s body at Relay Tower 0MC-810, take another Holotape, and read another note.
  • Use the terminal to load the Holotape and transfer song files, then listen to the Radio AM 810 signal.
  • Next, head to the BADTFL regional office, which is back southwest, just east of Wattz Consumer Electronics
  • Find Connie’s body and another Holotape/note. The correct password is: [e\_di@bl0*p7z+rk4CkzEsx\@iene
  • Then head to Relay Tower 0SC-527 (Southeast of Diamond City). Use the terminal to load the FM 52.7 Holotape and transfer the song file
  • Now, head to the Boston Police rationing site directly south of Diamond City. Make your way up onto the roof and inside.
  • Enter Mass Pike Tunnel. Activate the radio next to John Reise to unlock the nearby door.

How to use X-02 Power Armor?

Fallout 4 How to Get X-02 Power Armor

In Fallout 4, the X-02 power armor is slightly enhanced by the X-01. The main strength of the X-02 power armor is the Tesla coils. When enemies get close and attack, this armor returns electrical damage and shocks them. Thus, this makes it a perfect set for up-close melee or short-range power armor builds.

Additionally, you can install a jet pack, like with other power armors. Therefore, consider upgrading your armor to X-02 for increased utility, look, and performance.

Finally, remember that fusion cores are needed to power your armor, so keep a healthy supply and buy from vendors when possible. The perk Nuclear Physicist from Intelligence will also extend the duration of Fusion cores. Therefore keeping you in the armor longer. Check our Power Armor Build for more details!
