In the Shadow of the Mountain Quest
The Path Up the Mountain
- Meet Sebastian along the coast
- This is outside of Hogwarts so floo fast travel with a combination of broom/mount riding should get you there.
- Travel up the switchbacks
- As you go make your way up the path you’ll encounter a goblin camp at the first turn of the switchback.
- As you run through the passageway between the rocks you finally reach a wooden gate. This is a camp with more goblins – your character may want to exercise caution, but Sebastian doesn’t have the patience
- Defeat all the enemies
- When the fight is over you’ll talk to Sebastian
- Afterwards you’ll still have some running and climbing to do as you make your way up to the cave entrance. More goblins will be at the top.
- You automatically stop to talk to Sebastian again
- Make sure to activate the floo marker here before you enter the cave
Into the Cavern
- Search for Runes
- Head down the tunnel and deal with the spiders that come swarming out in the first room
- Keep heading down the stone path towards the quest marker and more spiders will come out to play
- Ruins
- A short tunnel past the spiders and you come upon a room with a staircase leanding upwards. Follow it and burn away the spider web at the top.
- Past the stone pillars will be a wall of rubble you can blast away with Confringo
- Down another small tunnel with pulsing sacks on the wall and into a large stone walled ruin with lots of spiders
- There is a sealed door with a node on either side of it – the third can be found on the wall opposite by turning straight around.
- Defeat the troll
- Beyond the door you’ll come to another room. A short cut scene will bring a troll out and you’ll have to fight it and some spiders
- When the fight is finished, use the Reparo spell to fix the stone structure the troll knocked down, then head up the stairs
Finding the Triptych
- Search for the triptych segment
- In the next room you’ll want to grab the crate you see with Accio and drag is over to the left, where you’ll drop it up against a ledge you need to climb
- Head straight up the stairs and to the left at the very top
- Keep moving along the balcony until you come to the next room. In the upper right hand corner there will be a rubble wall you can blast with Confringo.
- In the opposite corner of the same room you can find a chest and another of Isidora’s journal entries
- Go through the whole created by the destruction of the rubble and jump over the gap
- Up the stairs will be another sealed door. Two of the nodes you can find by looking out over the balcony (see image below). The third you can find by facing the door an looking left. Hit the rubble with Confringo and the node will appaer
- Investigate the chamber
- To the left inside the door you’ll find the final journal entry.
- Head to the stairs on the right. Walk up and turn immediately to the left. Climb up the ledge.
- At the table in an alcove on the left you will find the final triptych canvas piece
- You’ll automatically speak to Sebastian
- Exit to the Undercroft
- Place the canvas into the triptych
- You and Sebastian will look at it together and a pensieve will appear behind you. Use it, then speak to Sebastian again
